Ekin and Karena Lam together star in Ivy Ho's debut film Claustrophobia. Last evening the premiere of the movie was held at the AMC Pacific Place theater in Hong Kong. Ekin, Karena, Andy Hui. Ivy Ho the director and film company executives attended. In addition Jacky Cheung and Tang Wei also attended and they became somewhat of a focal point causing the premiere to turn into a promotion for Ivy Ho's next movie. However, Ekin and Karena didn't seem to mind that they took the limelight and they both welcomed them and gave them their support. Ekin and Karena divulged that they had been on- screen lovers before. Karena said, " We have made 4 movies and have known each other for seven years. Ekin has a good heart, he both teaches and supports me. We do have an on-screen spark. Reporters noted that Ekin still isn't married, and she still had a chance. Karina said that she certainly didn't want that, but making movies with him was very comfortable and enjoyable. Reporters then wanted to know if Ekin's girlfriend visited the set, to which Karena replied she had not. When Karena was asked what she would want from a partner, she said that at the minimum should have similar courtesy and manners as Ekin. She was then asked how she would spend Valentine's Day, to which she replied that she would attend an activity at Disney World. Ekin said that he had paid visits to his girlfriend's family over the New Year Holiday. He added that they were under no pressure by their elders to get married.
Ekin and Karena Lam together attended a promotion event for their new film Claustrophobia at Tuen Wan Plaza. The film which was due to go on general release on Valentine's Day, it seems recently that it's release will be delayed. Ekin admitted that he will spend Valentines Day with his girlfriend and go out to eat to celebrate. He said that giving each other presents, in fact they would donate money to people in need. Karena said she was used to being alone on Valentine's Day. She indicated that she will be working on Valentine's Day, perhaps after work she will go with friends to eat. She believed that she was not unlike other women, all hope to find love, these emotions are natural. Questions were asked of Ekin concerning the events surrounding the "Salty Pork Hand' case at TVB, and whether he was worried for his girlfriend. Ekin said that he was mindful of recent events, but that he hadn't spoken to the people involved. Everyone knows to be careful, this kind of thing is complex, it is for TVB to handle it.
Ekin, Theresa and Deep Ng attended RTHK's File X publicity event where each brought a special photograph to share. Ekin's photograph was of a train station. He remembered when he was small waiting in a small village to get on a train very early in the morning. The photograph shows many people at the station, some people use a pole to carry the luggage. At that time many people can jump on the train. He said he had tried that before. He laughed and said that was the reason he had to practice good skill.
Reporters quizzed Ekin regarding his latest movie Claustrophobia with Karena Lam. They asked him to comment on, his former girlfriend's Valentine;'s day released movie 《爱得起》 indicating that the box office returns for Claustrophobia were not ideal. Ekin said that the comparison was not meaningful, as Claustrophobia's release was not finished. He said that when the movie company executives prepared for release, it was to help a new director, and promote an Art and Culture style of movie, they already expected that it would not have a high box office. It was also his first time to film such a movie, but he was probably unlikely to do another. He felt, however, that this starting point was favorable. He generously said regarding Gigi's first three day box office results this was very good.They asked if he would go and see it and support her. He frankly said he would see what would be convenient to go and see if he had free time, because every actor will make their best achievement.
