Ekin recently took part ina radio interview with a Singapore journalist to publicize his current movie Claustrophobia. Recently there have been a string of rumors concerning his current girlfriend Yoyo Mung. First that she bought stock and lost a lot of money, second that TVB has put in deep freeze,and third that she is eager to become Mrs. Cheng to take shelter from these troubles. Ekin immediately spoke in her defense, "she has not bought stock, why would she gamble like that? As for TVB placing her in the cold, to be frank I really don't know TVB's current infrastructure. I also know that TVB has laid off employees, a good many actors are not filming. The topic of Yoyo's nonexistence manifestation, as well as many people saying she need not work. It's very strange." He further revealed that Yoyo was busy working for a christian charity.
Ekin has a TVB background, he sighed and said that in the past he was very familiar with TVB, but now see that TVB's production rate for actors is high. However he felt it was innapropriate for him to say anything.
However regarding the eagerness of Yoyo to become Mrs. Cheng or to let the present stage continue. Ekin enjoys the current situation. Because of the current financial crisis need to earn genuine money before can make any plans. Ekin laughed and said that he didn't like to make plans. Couldn't say for sure whether one day he will unexpectedly want to get marrried.
Ekin joined Ivy Ho and Karena to film Claustrophobia, from Ekin's point of view this is already the fourth collaboration, his previous collaborations with Karena being 恋之风暴 Floating Landscape, 后备甜心 It Had to be You, and 双雄 Heroic Duo. Karena has said before that the first time she worked with me she saw me playuing a video game machine and she was not impressed with me.She felt I was only focused on playing. The next time we collaborated she felt more relaxed, more familiar. Perhaps the first time she had met with some difficulty that caused her to feel meddlesome and only see the surface appearance.This time we have a very good rapport.
When you interview Ekin it is like chating with a friend, his tone and mood means that very little is a taboo subject, his intuition means he gets along well with people. Reporters are curious. Is there any female actress that caused him so much difficuty that he dislikes them? Ekin thought.then said. " troublesome personality of female actors I am indifferent to. I most fear those who have a casual attitude to work. In my previous TVB phase have actors often make a disturbance on the set or be missing unaccounted for, this will make people bitter and miserable, cause them to be detested." Interviewer, of course wanted to know who? Ekin predictibly said that he was unlikely to give away the person's name.
He was asked why up until know he has refused to work with Gigi or Yoyo. Ekin responded that this wasn't worth talking about. Gigi to Ekin is already a past model, Yoyo is the current model. Currently the Hong Kong movie market is in a depression, so if he was asked to work with either Gigi of Yoyo would he consider it? Ekin said only if in Hollywood film business actors are appointed. In fact he really should not work with either of them. The result would cause laughter, actors need a private life.
The situation between Gillian and Edison continues to be talked about, Ekin genuinely said, " So long as have a "want to be a superstar" mentality you continue to work hard to do it. Don't be too attatched to results, should still be able to go on in the entertainment field and develop. Time changes many things, in fact you shed things or people like you shed underwear, all along talk about, I think I not say more. I am anxious that everything said increases the pressure.
Ekin attended the the Physics and Engineering Community University Graduation Celebration in his capacity as Neighborhood Ambasador. He sang and danced with a class of students. This is the fifth year that he has taken part in this event. Last year he participated in the dragon boat racing with the same students, he said they had finished third. This class has also helped him to teach the elderly how to use acomputer.This has been very significant.. H e was asked whether he would bring Yoyo to participate in charity events. Ekin said that recently his girlfriend had left for Cambodia to film a special, He added that everyone does charitable benefit work, it is just that the starting points are different.. As to whether this year he will do the dragon boat with Yoyo. Ekin laughed and said he would wait for her to learn to swim first.Of course then he was asked if he would personally teach her. Ekin smiled," I think she will push for a teacher to teach well."
Ekin mentioned that in the last few days he had been practicing singing exercises and also practicing his badminton. He was asked whether he would again enter the music industry. He said," Wait while I exercise my singing first, it is like everything I want to make progress, otherwise he won't pursue it." As to whether he will produce an album, he indicated that he wanted to take advantages of the current time to practice and study.
Mentioned Ekin's collaboration with Spencer Lam Sheung Yee in the Young and Dangerous movies. Regarding Lam Sheung Yee's death Ekin sadly said that he was very sad, but he didn't have any means to do anything. he said that Lam Sheung Yee was a very serious and respectful man, when they were filming they all very much respected him, However once filming was finished he seldom saw him. Now he has died, he will also communicate with Jordan and other members of the cast and see if Lam Sheung Yee's family need anything.
