Ekin attended an activity with Ella and others taking on the role of a Green Ambassadors to publicize a green life and environmental protection consciousness, Ekin was asked to comment on the fact that although the movie won Best actor awards for himself and Shawn Yue, it's box office results in hong Kong were not high. Ekin explained that the movie was made by a Singapore Company. He didn't do any publicity in Hong Kong, In addition there were no posters or advertisements to publicize the movie.. Hong Kong had only bought the rights to show it, so it was only showing at 2 or 3 theaters. So in fact the returns were not bad. Also the DVD is already available.
Karena was surprised and happy to learn of the nominations, She said that when she films with Ekin their communication is excellent..
Ekin and Yoyo are looking more and more like a husband and wife. At the beginning of the month Ekin accompanied his girlfriend to the movies, however first he had already visited a car dealership and purchased a white Fiat K-CAR for Yoyo. A few days ago they arrived together to take delivery of the new car, however when they realized that reporters were around they had no choice but to abandon their plans and leave in their current car. Since Ekin and Yoyo have been a couple, they are frequently seen out and about together and their relationship seems to be very steady. Towards his girlfriend Ekin is attentive and considerate, at the end of last year he bought her a new car as a Christmas present.
However, this year he has not stopped working, in recent months he has been filming in Thailand with Aaron Kwok, he has also bee in Japan filming for several months. Consequently, he has not had much time to accompany Yoyo. When he returned home he was happy to spend time with her and make up for not being home. He also ordered a new white Fiat smart car. On the day they were to collect the car they both arrived at the Kowloon dealership. It seemed that Ekin was going to take possession of the car and then give it to Yoyo as a romantic gift. Yoyo seemed excited about the car and quizzed the salesperson on the car's features and operation, then together with Ekin went into the office perhaps to sign the documents. The sales person didn't exchange Yoyo's number plates. When Ekin realized reporters were on the scene he did not look pleased, he just went with Yoyo back to their car and hurriedly left. After they left, the salesperson covered the car with plastic.
Yoyo still didn't receive a new car, consequently she is still driving the car she received as a present last year. The new car has a 1.4 liter engine with a top speed of 100 mph. It is also very fuel efficient. Only 100 of these vehicles have currently been delivered to Hong Kong.
Later information surfacesd that the car was not intended for Yoyo at all but a surprise gift for Ekin's manager Lam Shan Shan. Being caught by reporters meant that Ekin didn't take possession of the car, and the surprise was ruined. Ekin mood was not happy because of this. Lam Shan Shan talked about the surprise in a radio interview , she said that she had found a car she liked in Japan and was looking into whether it could be imported to Hong Kong.
