On October 4th Ekin celebrated his 41st birthday. That night Yoyo specially wore shorts to show off her long legs. Together they went to a French restaurant. The next night they met up with friends, including Shan Shan and Jerry lam for a seafood meal to celebrate. This year Yoyo attended the celebrations as Ekin's girlfriend however she still offered to make a birthday cake. No wonder she has a sweet place in Ekin's heart. Last August was Yoyo's birthday. Ekin called friends to help to celebrate it. For Ekin's birthday Yoyo took two nights to celebrate and wish him long life. On his birthday evening she wore a white shirt and shorts, showing off her legs. When they left the restaurant around 11pm reporters asked Yoyo whether she had celebrated with Ekin in advance, Ekin immediately rushed to say No, it is usually is an ordinary meal. Then they left on foot to walk to where they had left the car, and then returned home.
The next night Yoyo once again accompanied Ekin when he met up with friends, including Shan Shan and her boyfriend, also Jerry Lam and his wife joined the gathering.. They all ate seafood to celebrate. This time Yoyo was dressed normally in T-shirt and jeans. Everyone enjoyed the evening which again broke up around 11pm. Ekin and Yoyo chatted outside the door with Shan Shan and Jerry, only then did they call a taxi to leave. Jerry and his wife left in Jerry's Fiat K Car.
Reporters are staking out Ekin's new apartment to see the progress with the rennovations.The outside wall seems to be complete, however they believe Ekin did not yet move in there to live.
Today Ekin attended a prelude to the 3rd Annual Salvation Army O' Day. With students, at the development center, he participated in team building activities, such as a trust circle and climbing over a wall.. As to a few days ago when Yoyo joined him to go to eat in a high class restaurant. She wore shorts showing of her long legs. Ekin explained that they have been learning about western etiquette when going for dinner, and so dressed up. Reporters also asked him about the car he was going to buy for Yoyo. Ekin cleared that up right away, the car was not a gift for Yoyo, but in fact a gift for his manager Lam Shan Shan. However because when he went to collect it, the media discover it, so also he doesn't want the car. He talked with Shan Shan, and she has other thoughts in her mind now.
Talking about his birthday wish, Ekin said that his desire was to have an optimistic and active life. He was asked whether his girlfriend had made him a cake this year. he said that he hadn't had a cake, but in fact a cake was not important, most important was to be happy.
Ekin and Nikki attended the prize giving ceremony in Macao to present awards to the winning teams in the HK to Macao orienteering race. The race is sponsored by the Salvation Army to raise funds for their programs.
Recent reports have indicated that because of the current investment crisis Ekin's girlfriend had asked him if she could borrow money. The report indicated that she had bought stock, because Ekin had persuaded her it was a good idea. Because of the stock market decline she was said to have barely enough money to live on and needed to borrow from Ekin to pay her home loan. The report indicated that they had quarreled over this, and Ekin had only lent her 200,000HK.
Ekin declined to comment, as the report was clearly false. however he said that the reports created something out of nothing, because Yoyo didn't have any investments. He laughed and asked the well off reporters after they took his picture what will they would write, because everyone knows they make false claims. Ekin acknowledged that he has investments, but they are completely long term, which is why the current crash doesn't really affect him.
Yesterday was the 6th anniversary of the death of Ekin's teacher, Roman Tam. Ekin said that before coming to this event he had been to pay his respects.He said that whether he was happy or not, he had been always able to talk to his teacher.
Today the lead actors of the Movie Claustrophobia met with the media to talk about the film which is one of those chosen to close the 21st Tokyo Film Festival. The director Ivy Ho has been nominated for best new director, and the two lead actors have been nominated for best mal and female actors for the movie Claustrophobia. All three are in attendance at the Festival. Media from all over Asia also attend the Festival. Because Karina and Ekin are well known in Japan the reporters all want to interview them. Outside large numbers of Ekin's fans waited to see their idol/ many of them with gifts for him. Security had to make a passage for him to escape them..
Ivy Ho explained that her husband is actually claustrophobic and she has wanted to make a movie about it for some time, however in life there are many things you just don't know. She explained that this was her rationale for using flashbacks. The film had a small budget and had to be filmed quickly, so she was unable to film the scenes in order. Ekin indicated that his favorite scene was the first one and the last one as they are similar to a persons true life. You don't know the beginning when you meet someone and also you don't know how how the relationship with that person will end.
Ekin and Karina have collaborated together in four movies. They have become close friends. Karina indicated that when they did the first movie they didn't like one another but gradually they have come to have a deeper understanding of each other and now she feels Ekin is an OK person. His personality is very easygoing. Ekin said that this time in Japan he asked Karina out to eat. Their friendship is easily seen.
