Kelvin Tong filmed the horror movie in Hong Kong because he was unable to get permission to film the subject matter in Singapore .Though reporters wanted to ask about the recent indecent pictures scandal, both Ekin and Shawn indicated that they were unwilling to talk about it as the incident was already over.
Rule 1 is Ekin's first ghost movie, he said that the role in this movie suited him, the more he filmed the more he thinks it is easy to meet ghosts. If the police believe there are ghosts, when investigate how can they point to the cause. Ekin also explained close to the heart is also a devil evil spirit. causes people to doubt themselves, decide to investigate because what is the norm.

The section leader Ekin announces his work's rule 1 is in the world there are no ghosts. But soon strange things start to happen. as a result bump into ghosts. The investigation gets more and more bizarre.
Ekin said he had been in the entertainment industry many years and he recalled two strange happenings. The first was when he was filming Rule 1, when on route to the bathroom he felt a menacing cold that spread from his hands throughout his body. He made an effort and got to the door by humming and singing to keep the fear from his heart. Later he heard from the staff that they always went in groups because they felt one alone may be dangerous. The second ghostly incident was at Clearwater Bay TV City . It involved a taxi driver who collected a fare who wanted to go to TV City. Suddenly the fare gave the driver twice the fare and asked him to wait below, saying that if anyone comes and wants a ride, don't take him. The driver promised, took the money and parked in the courtyard nearby. A woman tried to hail the driver, she seemed uncomfortable in her clothes. he felt sorry for her and gave her a ride. When he got back to his stand and was eating with his colleagues they asked him if he had had an accident in his car, unexpectedly the driver had a long split scar.
Questions then turned to his relationship with Yoyo. Ekin said that they were unlikely to get married this year. His next project would be filming the next episode of Stormriders with Aaron Kwok.

Singapore Director Kelvin Tong's newest movie RULE #1 premiered in Singapore today. The movie is a supernatural thriller and features Hong Kong actors Ekin Cheng, Stephanie Che and Shawn Guessing actress Fiona Xue also has top billing. When Tong spoke about the actors in his film, he was naturally starry-eyed. “It’s really kind of freaky,” he said, “because I saw Ekin Cheng in Gu Wak Jai (Young and Dangerous). And suddenly I’m telling him to walk from here to there. It’s very strange! And (Yue) was in Infernal Affairs! ”
The premise of the movie starts with a simple what if? What if there are ghosts and the Police know about them? Do they then tell the truth or do they lie? Therein lies the premise of RULE #1. I wanted a film that explored the spectrum between black and white. I was interested in making a film that is gray. With RULE #1, I was able to achieve that with a storyline that was about two cops confronted by the supernatural and their subsequent struggle to reconcile their awful knowledge with their mission to serve and protect the public. In other words, to really protect the innocent, do you tell them that there is a ghost in their apartment or do you lie and blame the strange noises on a faulty water pipe? So this is is a horror-thriller about cops. There are no helpless female victims here. Instead, the prey are policemen who, despite possessing guns, find themselves at their wits’ end when confronted by bloodthirsty ghouls and spirits. RULE #1 takes place in an unnamed Asian city, and tells the story about two cops - a rookie and veteran. As the body count rises and our two protagonists find themselves ankle-deep in blood, themes of bonding, faith, heroism and betrayal are explored. As good battles evil, the line is drawn somewhere between the truth and lies. This is no man’s land. This is gray.
Ekin and Shawn Yue together with Fiona Xie attended the Singapore premiere at Vivo City.. They spent about 10 minutes talking to the those who had won tickets to attend the premiere from various radio stations from the main stage before going inside the theater to take their seats.

Recently there has been speculation in the media that Ekin and Yoyo Mung might soon get married. However, Ekin's manager Lam Shan Shan said that this was most unlikely even though the relationship was stable, because this year Ekin's schedule was already full. He is about to start filming Stormriders 2. At the opening press conference for Stormriders 2, reporters commented that Ekin's hair had once again grown long. They asked Ekin if he had grown his hair because Yoyo liked it. Ekin immediately denied that this was the reason, the fact is that I am to play Whispering Wind and long hair is needed for the role. He is also working out to ensure his body is fit. As to marriage, he said that at this time he had no plans. Lam Shan Shan also explained that this year was Ekin's entering the profession 20th year anniversary, therefore toward the end of the year the company plans to hold a concert, so you see marriage this year is an impossibility.
Last year Ekin purchased a $28,000,000 HK apartment at Nautilus Villa Block 10 The apartment is an elegant a 1,600 square meter apartment with a sea view.
Within the last few days Ekin and Yoyo have been seen looking at bathroom and kitchen fittings. Yesterday afternoon they were seen arriving at Boffi a famous furniture store. The sales clerk seemed to know them and greeted them right away. Yoyo looked at a stove and kitchen cabinets. Both Ekin and Yoyo listened attentively to the sales clerks explanations and design plans. At times Ekin seemed to look skyward, not looking at the items Yoyo was discussing giving her as "the mistress of the kitchen" the decision.. Eventually, however, the two of them put their heads together to make the decision to purchase a high tech stove and kitchen cabinets worth more than a million dollars HK. Once the purchases were concluded they simply left. Ekin held the door for Yoyo but when they exited the store they realized that there were reporters on the scene. As they were getting into the car, reporters asked Ekin if he had bought the house because Yoyo wanted him too. Ekin however, immediately said that he had bought the house because he liked it and no one had asked him to buy it. Reporters, of course, speculated that they are preparing for marriage and this was to be a love nest. Ekin smiled sweetly and told them to back off sensitive issues. Then they hurriedly left.
