Huo Yuan Jia is already being broadcast in several provinces around China. The latest broadcast figures reveal that it has the highest ratings so far this year, beating out many other popular dramas. The 42 episode drama is already available on DVD and VCD.
This weekend Ekin was in Singapore as part of his "Legend of Huo Yuan Jia ' tour. At around 9pm Ekin with his security went to eat and afterwards strolled in Suntec City to window shop and look around. Later at the press conference Ekin said that he finds having security around him all the time inconvenient. He said that if he goes everywhere with security then it calls attention to him and people become curious.. So he will say that he is going back to his room but in fact will go out to look around. Last evening he went with just one person accompanying him. Ekin said that walking around the city had been most comfortable, he had not been bothered by fans or paparazzi taking pictures. He indicated that although some people recognized him, at most their requests are to take a picture with him or have him sign something for them. He didn't encounter any fan madness. Reporters of course then wanted to know if he had bought a gift for Yoyo while he was out looking at the stores. Ekin said that he hadn't and also he hadn't bought anything for himself adding that recently he is emphasizing environmental protection, so buying too many not needed things is extravagant and wasteful.
Ekin was asked about 谢宛谕 who also will act in Ekin's latest movie 《第一诫》. Ekin said that in fact he had only met her on the first day of filming and he really didn't know her. Reporters wanted to know if he thought she was pretty, but Ekin said he really hadn't seen her clearly. He also said that she didn't wear anything revealing that day. As she mostly will have scenes with his co-star Shawn Yue, Ekin suggested they ask him. Ekin also said that her way of dressing was fearless. In Hong Kong he noted that actresses seldom dressed that way for fear of the paparazzi.
For his role in Huo Yuan Jia he for the first time he shaved his head. Ekin laughed and said it made him resemble a foreign star. However, did being bareheaded made finding other work difficult? Ekin in fact said it had been a breakthrough and made everyone aware. In the past he had really long hair, but in fact short hair is pretty good. He said that shaving his head was not the most embarrassing but the the fact that it took 2 or 3 weeks to grow back. Reporters asked him if he thought his bare headed look or Jet Li's was the most handsome. Ekin said he didn't think about looking handsome, but more about whether the manner resembles or not.
The topic shifted to whether Ekin would with the right script take his clothes off. He said, " This is very general. In fact Hong Kong is becoming more and more conservative, almost a regression. In the past actors stripped off fairly often in scenes, however now if an actor just wears a sleeveless shirt, everyone says is sexy." Ekin added that with the right script and a good enough reason he would not have a problem to strip off. When asked when, he laughed and said very soon, but he didn't know just when.
Ekin is now 40 years old, he has said that currently he has no plans to get married. His family are not pressuring him to get married. Both his older brother and his younger sister are already married so his parents don't give him any pressure. he wa asked about the recent reports that he would open a restaurant together with Yoyo. At this Ekin just stared at the reporters. " Have not these plans. I myself have thought about opening a family restaurant for the elderly, but there is not any plan to open anything together with Yoyo."
Over the weekend Ekin visited 3 sites in Singapore. He signed autographs, played games with the fans to allow them to win signed posters and copies pf the series DVD or VCD. The fans were very enthusiastic and happy to see him and the scenes were very lively. Though Ekin's Mandarin is much better he still had an interpreter to accompany him. Ekin makes mistakes when speaking Mandarin, he usually knows it right away and is embarrassed. After mistakes he reverts to Cantonese and lets the interpreters work to translate , saving himself from embarrassment.
Even though Ekin rushed between sites to sign autographs he remained very up beat and excited even though at the 8pm event he hadn't eaten dinner. Fans asked him whether he would sing. He was a little confused and said it was a long time since he sang . But if someone invited him he would take out some old songs to sing. Fans didn't give up wanting him to sing right then. Ekin didn't refuse. Afterwards the whole hall cheered loudly. Many of Ekin's fans are extremely loyal and have followed him for more than 10 years. They even bring their children to see with them to see their idol. Ekin recognizes them as they have taken pictures with him before.
When Huo Yuan Jia was young he suffered from asthma, likewise when Ekin was young his health also was not ideal. He suffered from rheumatism in his joints, when the weather changed he would be in pain. He thought this was strange because rheumatism should be an elderly person' s pain. However he received this kind of pain at a very young age. "To threat this pain he saw a doctors. Very unusual is the fact that as I grew up this rheumatism faded away. Now it isn't an issue, I forgot that I had this disease when I was small." Besides this, he also had skin disorders when he was young. His eyelid skin was often sore and cracked. As he grew up he also lost this problem. Now Ekin makes a great effort to be healthy, the only injury he has received while filming has affected his waist.
Already the DVD and VCD of Huo Yuan Jia are available, The story tells of Huo Yuan Jia's life growing up in a martial arts family. Because of his asthma his father refuses to teach him martial arts. Huo Yuan Jia not wanting to be seen as an invalid, secretly trains to a high level of martial arts. When the Western countries invade China, in addition to Japan's aggression, Chinese people suffer. Huo Yuan Jia and his associates set up the Jing Wu Academies of Martial Arts, causing their fellow countrymen to recognize that learning martial arts was a way to be heroic and make the effort to have faith.
Ekin for the first time shaved his head for a TV series role. He said the consequence of this was that he had to wait for it to grow back. While he was waiting he lost a number of opportunities for work. He said he originally thought to request not shaving his head. However after it was done, he found people praising his bald headed look. Ekin said that the only problem was the cold weather, caused his brain not to want to work. on day during filming it was cold and rainy. His co-star Jordan, who plays Chen Zhen and also had to shave his head, just didn't get up. Ekin said that this drama represented the longest time he has been away from Hong Kong to film. The deepest impression he came away with was how cold China's winter is. Every day after filming not eat until while it is hot hot pot, in fact nothing was able to help to defend against the cold.
Reporters wanted to know if Ekin would work at TVB with his girlfriend Yoyo, Ekin indicated that this was unlikely. He said he didn't expect to make another TVB drama. Ekin went on to talk about his thoughts on environmental protection saying that he worries about how the world will become. He mentioned global warming and said that people have a negligent feeling, thus he is afraid for children born into this world. He said that he was a conservative and traditional man so he will calmly weigh everything especially marriage. ekin said that China's economy is taking off. He wants to make money. After all it is a man's task to concentrate on his career mainly.
Recently Ekin has been traveling on the mainland for both endorsements and to publicize his latest drama Huo Yuan Jia. Returning to Hong Kong the first thing he did was to take his parents out to dinner at a well known seafood restaurant. There have been reports that Ekin's family had problems with his girlfriend Yoyo. However at this family gathering Yoyo didn't appear. Only Ekin and his parents went for a leisurely meal. Leaving the restaurant, Ekin didn't acknowledge reporters, but merely with his parents got into his car and drove away.
In 1998 Aaron and Ekin played the roles of Cloud and Whispering Wing in Stormriders. The move was a box office smash. Many people have grown up with Ma Rong's manga. Currently the Peng Brothers and Andrew Lau are vieing to be the first to film the sequel. Universal are looking to invest $10,0000 US in the movie.
Ekin and Miriam attended a mountain climbing activity. Earlier Miriam had run in a 10 mile race competition, because she loves sports. However this is her first time to participate in a marathon. She said she often does shadow boxing especially when getting ready for a concert. Ekin added that usually he climbed mountains with his family members and his girlfriend Yoyo during his leisure time. He said that Yoyo liked sports. He added that it was nothing to do with his influence. He was full of praise for 《通天干探》 saying that in that she was pretty good, though at the time they didn't know each other, but she should do more action scenes. Ekin also said that sporting items were very suitable to help women lose weight, perhaps he would set up a dealership. He pointed out that Yoyo, however, didn't need this.
The media have reported that after Chinese New Year Ekin will star in the continuation of Stormriders. Ekin just said that his hair was growing longer and he would keep it to prepare for filming, several names have been put out regarding the female leads, however Ekin indicated that nothing was clear yet.
This afternoon at 2:30pm Ekin attended a press conference for the launch of a new HTC Tounch Dual cell phone. This is the second time Ekin has endorsed the HTC cell phone. He was given several phones so is able to give the cell phone to his friends to try out. Yoyo of course has one. Ekin a little later will go to film a Japanese movie. The movie has many action scenes. There is also content he has never filmed before. Ekin is extremely active and to exercise his body. The rumor is that Andrew Lau and the Peng Brothers borth plan to film a sequel to the box office smash Stormriders. Ekin laughed and said both directors had approached him so chances are they have approached Aaron also. He said, however, that he had not yet received a script. Once he does, if it is suitable, he will join the cast, which will probably start filming in March next year. Female lead names put forward are Zhou Xun and Song Hwe Kyo. Ekin was not willing to say which he thought was better, however he did say that chemistry between the actors on the screen was the most important. Currently he is busy with a movie through the end of the year.

Recently a number of weekly publications have reported that the relationship between Ekin and Yoyo is sliding down a slope and that they are more than half parted company. Many of them have also made this news their cover stories. Since they started to see each other last September they hadn't avoided being seen together, going out to eat, riding bicycles together, Ekin even brought her to meet his family. Yoyo in fact was constantly in and out of his home. Recently howeever, it seems that their relationship is cold and indifferent, it seems that htey have different ideas, Yoyo can't bear his family's pressure to get married. This friction between them has caused them to be more than half parted company appearance.
One magazine reported that recently Ekin invited his parents out to drink tea. During that time he received a telephine call. Almost imediately his face changed and he was heard to say, he had done northing wrong and it was out of the question. He proceeded to argue with the person on the phone.
Yoyo on the other hand is busy publicizing her recernt drama. She is becoming increasingly thin. Her demeanour also suggests that her love life is less than ideal.
This afternoon Ekin and Niki Chow helped to open the 2007 Canon Expo. World class ice skaters demonstrated, and later performed Swan Lake on ice. Ekin and Niki skated and danced with them on the ice. Ekin's skating seemed more professional, even though he made mistakes.He explained that he had ice skated before when he was at school. Also he practised earlier in the day, because that had been such a long time ago.He laughed and explained that he definitely didn't resemble an ice skater. He was just a camera spokesperson. Niki on the other hand seemed nervous and her body was stiff She said she had only practiced for 15 minutes before the event. Fortunately, both Ekin and the professional skaters supported her. Ekin has been a spokesman for Canon for five years. Reporters joked with him asking if he would be a spokesman for seven years. Ekin acted dumb asking if they were talking about being a camera spokesman. He went on to explain that it was difficult to be a spokesperson for a Japanese product for so long. He also said that he didn't need to disclose how much money he had received but joked that he had already ascended to a god. Reporters asked questions about the reports concerning his relationship with Yoyo, however he refused to answer. Ekin will also attend the event tomorrow afternoon.
Ekin indicated that he was now under Lam Shan Shan's new company, which is a subordinate company of BMA. He also indicated that next year he had plans to produce an album. Plans for the filming of the <Stormriders> sequel are scheduled for March next year.

Ekin and Niki attended the second day of the Canon Expo. This time they only played games with the audience. Because Ekin has been a spokesperson for Canon for 5 years he has received many cameras. many of them he has given to friends. Niki has endorsed the printer for 3 years. The two of them have collaborated at Canon activities for a long time. Niki joked saying she'd like to exchange the printers she received with Ekin for his camera gifts. She went on to say that the printer was very convenient and she planned to use it to make Christmas cards to send to her friends. Ekin talked about the fast approaching Christmas, noting that last year he was not in Hong Kong. This year he didn't have to work so he would be home. He was asked if he would buy a special present for Yoyo. He embarrassedly said it was more than a month before Christmas, and buying gifts was troublesome. However he would buy gifts for friends and family. Niki said she would actually like to learn ice skating after her try yesterday. Ekin laughed and said he had ice skated when he was young, in the mistaken belief that he would meet girls there, finally of course he ended up disappointed.
