Yesterday Yoyo Mung was in Taiwan promoting her latest drama. Because of rumors that she and Ekin are partners, she became the focus of the media. However, she unexpectedly said that the reporters were wrong about the relationship. She would not admit to any feelings relationship, but would say only that they were just "playing badminton" good friends. Reporters didn't know whether this was because Ekin always towards relationships avoids acknowledgment and is always low key. They did ask her how well Ekin played badminton to which she immediately replied that she was better at the game than him. Reporters also pointed to the fact that she was carrying a video game machine similar to the one that Ekin regularly carries. To that she said that this video game machine was available everywhere and many people had one.

Ekin, Rain Li and director Peng Fa were guests at Sina to discuss their new horror movie Forest of Death. Rain Li and Ekin are boyfriend and girlfriend in the movie. The movie is was filmed in Thailand last summer. He was asked whether this was when he started to play badminton with Yoyo as during the filming there were pictures of him playing badminton with Shu Qi, who also stars in the movie. Of course he was asked whether he and Yoyo Mung were partners, especially as earlier this week Yoyo had denied that they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Ekin only smiled and said, " I haven't denied before, always I have said before didn't have time, as filming Huo Yuan Jia. After that is celebrate the New Year. We have been apart a long time. I return home and she leaves, and hasn't yet returned home. " Recently there were reports that Yoyo had bought $50,000 watches. Ekin indicated that he didn't receive this kind of Valentines day gift. " In fact I myself am a watch spokes person, it is impossible to casually give a watch for me to wear. With regard to his former girlfriend Gigi Leung saying that she needs protection from a man, the implication seems to be a suggestion that during their relationship Ekin didn't highly defend her. Ekin calmly said," Should not make a return" then he turned away and left.

Last night Ekin, Niki, Jade and Grasshopper, together with Lam Shan Shan and the BMA boss gathered together to welcome Kenny Bee to the BMA family. Ekin was asked if he was worried that Kenny would usurp him from his status as the BMA number one elder brother. Ekin said that he is not the number one elder brother at BMA he is just a performer. He said that the more performers BMA signed the better. He believes that BMA boss 罗杰承 is an intelligent and smart investor and he is not at all worried. He added that he hopes he will have the chance to collaborate with Kenny Bee.
Ekin was asked about comments made by a fortune tellers about Yoyo possibly becoming pregnant this year while still unmarried. Ekin did not grant an answer except to say this would unlikely be true. They teased Ekin that he rarely saw his girlfriend, to which he replied " it is not necessary tell you that she is in Taiwan working." Reporters asked Ekin if he took sufficient protection perhaps "double careful". Ekin was embarrassed and said he didn't know how to answer that. They asked if the situation happened would he take responsibility, to which he smiled andreplied "this is not a good topic of talk OK la"

Director Peng Fa's latest film Forest of Death, staring Ekin, Rain Li and Shu Qi premiere's next week on March 22, 2007. The Japanese forest was recreated with Thai scenery, Peng Fa relates that in the forest a series of strange things happen. Ekin and Rain who play a couple in the movie have been actively publicizing the movie. They have collaborated before, starring together six years ago in GoodBye Mr. Cool. Since then Rain feels that she has become more mature, however Ekin appears unchanged.
Rain has a good opinion of Ekin, a few days ago she revealed that she brought a badminton racquet to Thailand to play with Ekin. However it seems like Ekin didn't appreciate this kindness. He also feels that Rain is too thin. He noted that before she had some baby fat and looked healthy. Ekin has always cherished the idea of health. Reporters immediately started to compare whether he thought Yoyo's body had the right amount of fat. Ekin immediately said, " I talk about Rain needs to add some fat, and today we are talking about the movie." Reporters pursued him wanting to know whether he thought Yoyo's body shape was too thin or whether he thought it was healthy. They accused him of a double standard that his lover's eye didn't see.

Since September last year when Ekin and Yoyo Mung were first linked as a couple, the exposure of them both in the news has increased proportionally. They have both said no more than feelings develop. Recently a weekly magazine suggested that the relationship was over. But a few days ago reporters discovered Yoyo, recently returned home from Taiwan, in Ekin's company in HMV choosing DVD's and CDs.
Last week Yoyo was in Taiwan publicizing her new TVB drama. She always avoids talking about her feelings for Ekin, only describing him as a badminton friend. As a consequence there was immediate speculation that since Ekin had been away form home for more than three months filming Huo Yuan Jia, the relationship could not develop. Although at the BMA Spring Festival Annual Dinner the media searched out Ekin to answer but he said " I have from the beginning said in the process of developing." He refused to say more, causing even more "parted company" media clamor.

By 2008 Ekin's cherished desire is to become a director. For his first project he would like to film 手冢治虫's Black Jack as a live action movie. Ekin is preparing to talk to 手冢治虫's son to buy the copyright of the cartoon. There will be in the metro and six shopping plaza's activities celebrate 80 years. From Japan the script will be put on display. There will be an inauguration on March 25. 2007 手冢真 and Ekin will attend. Lam Shan Shan, Ekin's manager said that Ekin has always wanted to direct. When he was filming Huo Yuan Jia he talked to director 关锦鹏 about his desire. Ekin told him he wanted to direct but felt he didn't have enough skill. 关锦鹏 encouraged him saying only that he should prepare sufficiently. So Ekin hopes that he can accomplish his dream within two years. Ekin was asked why he concentrates on cartoon characters. Ekin responded because the movie carries a dream for the audience, not reality.

Regarding the mainland filming of Huo Yuan Jia this series was a challenge for Ekin. In the first place he hadn't been away from home for so long before, secondly the location filming has run to Shanghai,Suzhou, Beijing, Tianjin, the Gobi Desert and a cliff overlooking the Yellow River, At each place only a short stay. In addition he needed to shave his head for the role, letting go of his many years of long hair. Now his hair is still short and can still glimpse his scalp.
"Working in the mainland, I don't fear hard work, I trained in the TVB martial arts school and have a fearless spirit. Also Jordan and I have a Hong Kong team background. We are already friends and together went to accomplish this. So although it was exhausting hard work it was also fun. The exhausting hard work I will always remember."
The bitter cold took its toll on Ekin. It caused him to get sick and the action wasn't good. Because he was recovering from illness he received injury easily.
" The final day of filming had a scene where I had to fall in the water. Jordan and I continually complained and muttered about this. Actually all that is need is for me to open my mouth. Arriving at the scene think all have to do is jump in the river. When came ashore my ears could only hear my own breathing noise. Seemed like a high degree of hard work. In fact not yet regard as the limit."
In the last year Ekin has tried many new things.
"It makes actors very passive, Wait for others to find you, makes new opportunities difficult to get. This lets others see me from another angle. In the past I didn't have people find me to make these things, for example, Huo Yuan Jia was discussed for more than half a year until workable. In fact they can find other people, actors then are like this, perhaps the previous work adds up to only a little, so now have people find me to attempt new roles."
Ekin, Jordan and Shu Qi ten years before starred in Young and Dangerous. Jordan and Ekin again gather together.
"Before Shu Qi and I have worked together, in fact we filmed some mainland advertisements. Back then she was already generally recognized. In the movie Forest of Death we really aren't that close, but she intervenes between me and my screen girlfriend Rain Li."
Guan Jin Peng the director of Huo Yuan Jia said Young and Dangerous is unlikely to continue, They both are doing other things. But because of this previous long collaboration they have a chemistry that is very good. Ekin explained that it was because of this that Guan Jin Peng found him to play Huo Yuan Jia and Jordan to play Chen Zhen.
"Although we are both active, we are not fond of the same things. Our personalities are also completely different. Seems like one black, one white. When we work he drives me crazy and I drive him crazy. for example in Huo Yuan Jia the characters wear a lot of clothes. I once thought if perform Chen Zhen then good, but I didn't get this role. Jordan performs this character especially well."
Although the script of this drama is interesting it is the performers, costumes, make-up and scenery along with the plot details that give it a prominent fresh look. Huo Yuan Jia and Chen Zhen go from bitter hatred to lifelong friends. Huo Yuan Jia draws out smoke as well as Chen Zhen's Japanese love hate relationship. Huo Yuan Jia teaches his disciples. Without exception the performers embody this freshness. Add in the spectacular fight scenes and have an extremely watchable drama.
Ekin plays Huo Yuan Jia, but the legacy of Young and dangerous means that he is an idol of many young people. The cinematographer ashamedly admitted that he had never seen those movies and wasn't really interested in those kind of movies. He said that it took him a long time to accept Ekin in this role.
The camera has to assist the director to make the drama. So I hope that through my lens I see the Huo Yuan Jia that I imagine, heroic and fearless, muscular and strong. At first I think Ekin is perhaps too handsome, too delicate and refined. As filming progressed I changed my opinion, not only did he portray Huo Yuan Jia but also Ekin's inner heart is similar. Seems like in each scene with a foreigner as an opponent I was able see the Chinese spirit feeling.

Tonight was the Hong Kong premiere of the new Peng Brothers horror movie Forest of Death. The leading actors Ekin, Shu Qi and Rain Li attended. Shu Qi wore a purple dress, while Rain Li wore a very short black mini dress.
There were some hardships during filming. They all said that filming in the forest they received a lot of mosquito bites. In addition Shu Qi and Ekin are considered to be old friends. They have collaborated a number of times before. Because of this it was hard to avoid media gossip. Especially the idea that Ekin had feelings for Shu Qi. Shu Qi laughed and said they both usually want to be good friends is because of the in the film feelings where Ekin strongly dislikes her character.

Attending the Hong Kong premiere of Forest of Death, were Ekin, Shu Qi and Rain Li. During the filming of the movie Shu Qi and Ekin were pursued by the media about playing badminton together during their leisure time in Thailand. Reporters asked Shu Qi of she recognized Ekin's girlfriend Yoyo. Shu Qi laughed and said " Who? I don't recognize her."
Regarding the media reports that Yoyo was seen with another man, and that Ekin after finding out was resentful. When asked about this Ekin refused to answer as he said these reports were really nonsense. He said that the media write whatever, but it doesn't bother him. "In fact just don't bother us. and in particular don't bother my family."
However he did say that there still is badminton and this relationship was still as before, and there was no problem with this. Ekin indicated that at the moment he is resting after the long arduous filming of Huo Yuan Jia. Of course he was asked if he had gone to play badminton, and he said he had, and that he often plays sports. Reporters pushed on whether he invited Yoyo to play. he said he always invites another person and then admitted that he had played badminton with Yoyo, adding that this was a very normal thing. He said that although he plays badminton with her she isn't the only person he invites to play. Finally, he said that he didn't want to continue with this topic of talk because it was too depressing for the occasion.
Ekin said he was waiting for his hair to grow longer because he will film a mainland clothing advertisement and he needs his hair much longer for this.

Yesterday Ekin, Mu Yin and Jordan attended a press conference to publicize the new Posters for the mainland TV Drama Huo Yuan Jia. One of the posters shows Ekin's half naked body. Jordan was asked why he didn't show off his body too, Jordan joked that he was fat and had an ugly body. He added that his monetary reward though was ideal. Ekin said that he had prepared for that shot by playing badminton everyday.
Ekin explained that filming this drama was very exhausting. He had to filming falling in the water even though it was freezing. The plan is to broadcast this drama all over the mainland beginning in August 2007. Ekin was asked whether his decision to do this drama was based on the monetary award. Ekin laughed and said " per day and per episode. we filmed 30 episodes. But after the edits will be 40 episodes. I earn more then, 40 episodes money." Ekin added that the money from the drama means that for a whole year he need not work. He plans to work half the year and rest the other half year. Reporters of course asked Ekin if he would spend half the year with his partner. But Ekin said that his hope was to do some study, particularly to perfect his Mandarin because he feels that he doesn't speak it very well. The original plan was for Ekin to sing the theme melody, but the director feels that in order to insert that he must improve his Mandarin.

Yesterday Ekin, Shu Qi and Rain Li were in Guangzhou to publicize the opening of Peng Fa's horror movie Forest of Death. Unfortunately at the last minute Peng Fa was unable to attend, so Ekin Shu Qi and Ekin became the focus of the media. Rain Li discussed the experiences of making the movie. However Ekin and Shu Qi just sighed explaining that their age increases and it is difficult to change. Shu Qi said that she wants to cut back on her workload and maybe only do one or two movies a year. Ekin though, has plans to be a director. The reporters were quite astonished, however Ekin denied that it was anything to do with whether his films in recent years were successful or not. he said that when he finished TV filming his first movie was with Liu Wei Qiang. At that time he was very interesting in working behind the scenes. Although he has been a actor for many years he still has the intense desire to work behind the scenes. Now Liu Wei Qiang is a very successful director. I want to express my ideas since last year he has been working on a script He wants the film a romantic fantasy like 《金刚》. However he explained that the investment to make a movie is very great. Producers may not be willing to bear the risk, so he will probably have to film a romantic love piece first. In addition I want to find new actors to star in it. The Hong King film industry presently is growing smaller and smaller, so he hopes to foster some new people.
Yoyo on the other hand attended the unveiling of a new Land Rover. Reporters wanted to know whether she would buy one, especially since Ekin drives a Range Rover. But she said she was only an ordinary person and that car is too expensive.

Yesterday Ekin attended 手冢治虫 (Tezuka Osamu) cartoon world event. The event was to commemorate the opening of a museum of over 80 years of the Japanese animator's work. The late animator's son 手冢真 presided over the event. Ekin has always been fond of manga and was given a limited edition of Black Jack. This made him very happy, he told how in the past he had at a party dressed as Black Jack, it was a good cartoon role. The organizers arranged to have a number of the cartoon characters including Black Jack be present at the event. The event attracted a lot of people to come and see them.
Ekin has consistently been a supporter of 手冢治虫's manga and has a significant collection of them. He likes Black Jack very much, and has a great interest in making this into a movie. He plans to personally direct the movie and intends to purchase the copyright. He said however he might direct something else first to have a credit to his name. Reporters asked him whether even if he directed would he also perform in the movie? He said it would be unlikely, before when he had long hair he looked similar. Reporters pointed to the fact that Ekin likes comics and video games. He laughed and said he was a wastrel.
Regarding Yoyo saying he was very prosperous. Ekin laughed saying he was not, but he was very happy she thought so. He wasn't sure he has always felt himself to be prosperous, however from his early days until now his development has been very smooth and successful and any problems were quickly solved. Yoyo will be appearing on a different day (4/29/2007). Would Ekin have had a problem if it had been the same day. Ekin said that it would depend on the plan, the most important thing was that he was happy. Then they could all be happy.
手冢治虫's son was full of praise for Ekin's idea to direct Black Jack and said that he would have no problem. He was asked whether he thought Ekin was like Black Jack. He said that Ekin had much charisma but he also pointed to the fact that currently Ekin's hair was very short. He added that there were also people in Japan who were interested in this and it would seem that the competition would be very fierce. He then splashed cold water on Ekin's dream saying that to obtain the copyright would be a difficult undertaking because this was his father's work and so there would be much to discuss. Ekin understood the difficulties, and said he would need someone to invest, but the first thing was to obtain the copyright.

Ekin and a number of young children, the youngest being only two, and attending with her parents, attending the opening of the Bossini store. Ekin participated as a model in a catwalk with a number of young models. The two year old of course was completely the focal point of the whole scene. Ekin was surrounded by six little girls dressed in badminton outfits with racquets they made poses like playing badminton. Watching them Ekin couldn't help but laugh. He said that he didn't mind that they used badminton for the theme, he added that because everybody sees badminton popularized is good, to play more sports, that is a good thing. The new store is in a special pedestrian area and the catwalk extended out into that area. Ekin wants be more diversified. he hopes he can have the opportunity to design a sports T shirt.
Yesterday he also attended a WWF event, there he called on both fisherman and citizens to pay attention to the ocean ecology. There was a need to protect a large number of ocean species from extinction. Ekin encouraged the eating of "green" and sustainable seafood, and he unveiled a consumer guide produced by the WWF to help consumers. Ekin asked consumers to stay away from seafood that was not caught in the recommended manner, or was in danger of being depleted.
Ekin said, " As a seafood lover, I want to see seafood being readily available in the future. Being the WWF Marine Ambassador, I pledge to support the Guide by using it as a reference when buying seafood in the market and to help spread this important conservation message to my friends to encourage them to consume the "Green- Recommended" seafood" Ekin as an actor is very busy, however he is known as a person who likes to eat delicious food. he said that for him seafood was a logical and reasonable choice. Unfortunately, Hong Kong has an enormous appetite for seafood, in fact they are the 4th highest consumers in Asia and 21st globally. This makes it imperative that residents of Hong Kong practice good choices for seafood, as they can make a significant impact on fish stocks. Ekin also called on the fishing industry to fish responsibly to preserve the supply of seafood.
