The cast of 霍元甲 are now filming in Shanghai. 张颂文 talks about the fact that Ekin and Jordan speak Cantonese while the other mainland actors use Mandarin, which can at times become confusing , but is an unforgettable experience. Most of the filming 张颂文 is doing is with Ekin so the give and take is much greater. Though Ekin is older than 张颂文 he is more full of fun and his mental attitude is very good, so the generation gap between himself and younger actors doesn't show. Ekin has a TVB training class background with qualities of really listening, being really decisive, really thinking carefully, really watching and really creating a special feeling.

Ekin is currently filming 霍元甲 in Shanghai. He spent the New Year working at the Sheng Xiang military base. However he is happy because he is working in a beautiful scenic place, so he considers that a kind of enjoyment. Ekin's long hair was always his trademark, especially in the Young and Dangerous series of movies. Ekin said that shaving his head was work and anyway he can buy many hats, His last TV drama was Always Ready which was the first he had done after a 7 year hiatus. Now again he is involved in a television drama, is this an avenue he wishes to develop further. Ekin said that 关锦鹏's project he certainly wants to be involved with. Last year Jet Li played 霍元甲 in the film version Fearless. Ekin is not worried about the comparison, comparing him with the Young and Dangerous movies is the same thing. Not the same, people can have different feelings. 关锦鹏 said that Ekin appeared very open-minded and that his temperament almost exactly matches that of the Jing Wu master.

Ekin is working in Shanghai but his relationship with Yoyo Mung appears to be stable. Everything for him seems to be very smooth. He wrote wishing readers a Happy New Year in the newspaper and his hope that he can give everybody an even better TV drama.

More pictures are slowly emerging from Ekin's current drama Huo Yuan Jia. Most of these were filmed in Beijing before Christmas. The filming has now moved to Shanghai. The latest pictures show the marriage of Huo Yuan Jia. Ekin's marriage hat has two feathers. It is a traditional historical wedding.

张颂文 talked about another scene he did with Ekin. The sentence in the scene was about the execution of the 6 noblemen during 100 day reform by the Empress Dowager during the Qing Dynasty. Ekin had to read from a document but because he speaks Cantonese the pronunciation was very difficult. The first time for 菜市口 he said 白菜市, realized after that he had said it incorrectly. Ekin apologized to his colleagues, requested the director to do a second time. The director felt that because only three words it didn't matter and it could be fixed in post production. The second time though 菜市口 became 菜白市. Ekin was mortified still incorrect. I explained to him him that 菜市口 was a place in Beijing that during the Qing Dynasty was a place of execution. Many revolutionaries were put to death there. Ekin seriously listened. Third time for 菜市口 he said 菜市白. The director felt it was no big deal and wanted to move on. As the next scene was prepared Ekin helplessly complained. He said he seem to run into a have a hard time pit. 张颂文 feels that certainly actors often run into such situations. We all have many NG situations. Each time it bothers our hearts. The more times generally the more problem. So Ekin's misquote I feel is a small thing, and very normal, even though it bothered him greatly. Ekin suddenly petitioned the director. Asked me to do the scene again. I was surprised, but Ekin told me that this kind of mistake he could not forgive himself. If he let it go he will be endlessly concerned about it and at night would worry and not be able to sleep. This gave me an insight into a 20 year veteran actor who still maintains this kind of attitude, this is his secret to success. I am very happy I can glimpse nearby such an outstanding companion, that allows me to study.

In the scenes folowing the wedding Huo Yuan Jia is seen with his new bride. After the wedding dress is removed they find there is nothing to say, and it is difficult to find a reason for celebration. This should be the happiest night, but they wonder what they are faced with, and what they will have to abandon. Neither are sure of the road ahead.

Ekin has been the spokesperson for Canon camera's for more than 4 years.

Yesterday Jade and Casey were the special guests at a photographic event. Jade explained that a while ago Ekin had given her a camera as a gift. As a result she had become interested in photography, and especially in taking photographs of sunsets.
