Ekin and Niki today took part in an activity to promote the Salvation Army Hong Kong and Macao find the direction day in their capacity as goodwill ambassadors. Ekin said that every Christmas he designs a small scale directional game to give friends, They have to find the key to enter the door or win a mystery prize. Regarding his girlfriend being teased a few days ago, Ekin said that actors had to calculate carefully what they say in order to survive. Ekin and Yoyo have often been filmed holding hands. Reporters asked him whether he admitted the relationship. Ekin said he wouldn't say anything more, however he was unlikely to take offence by this, the pictures taken by others explain it.
During the press conference organizers explained how teams of 4 would make the trip between the two cities using an orienteering process in a set time. Participants would need to work together, and the activity would be physically demanding and a team spirit challenge .Organizers said that last year 94 teams participated. This year they said in planning the route they have added in some new elements. They went on to thank the numerous sponsors who have helped to make the event possible.
Ekin said teams would need to plan very carefully otherwise the goal can become more and more distant. Ekin and Niki tried out a finding the direction game. They called on everybody to participate in the activity on Saturday, October 13, 2007. Ekin indicated that he was very happy to publicize this event and he hoped that he would be available to actually compete in this event in October and experience this city to city orienteering for himself.

Ekin and Yoyo have been together for almost a year. The have been seen in each other's company several times, biking together in Sai Kung's suburbs, playing badminton. Yesterday was Yoyo's birthday. Ekin arranged birthday celebration activities. Reporters found them playing pool with friends, including Lok Yi, Shan Shan and her daughters, at the Wan Chai Kings Hotel to celebrate Yoyo's birthday. Everybody took turns to compete at pool. Ekin supervised Yoyo helping her to play. When the other guests wanted Ekin to be in photos he grudgingly complied and then went back to be beside Yoyo. The couple didn't hide their feeling as and were even seen biting one another's ears, When Ekin was playing Yoyo stood near him. The celebration broke up at around 11:30pm. Ekin drove Shan Shan home. Yoyo had originally been sitting in the back. When everyone got out she moved into the front to sit beside Ekin. Both she and Lok Yi returned to Ekin's home. Reporters emailed Lok Yi to ask if he gave Yoyo a gift. Finally he said he gave a little magic gift, that she didn't need. Shan Shan said, it was a birthday? I only know Ekin and Andy Lau invited me to go.

Ekin was recently in the Philippines in his capacity as Marine Ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund. At the WWF's project site in Donsol, he was able to swim with the seriously endangered Whale Shark, the worlds largest fish. Ekin explained that Donsol has about 40,000 people. and most of the people there are fishermen. The standard of living is not as good as Hong Kong, however the people enthusiastically work to conserve their ocean species and the marine environment. This allows many people to come to view the whale shark. Ekin talked at length with them about the ways in which they protect their ocean environment to help protect these endangered fish.
Ekin was thrilled to be able to swim at close quarters with such a large fish. Ekin was deeply affected by work done by the WWF in this area, and also he was very excited to be invited by them to see their work in other areas besides Hong Kong.. He called on mankind to treasure the organisms in the ocean and work to protect them. He commended the way that the local government and the fishermen work together to protect the ocean environment.
Ekin enjoys diving as a hobby. He said he has a fantasy that when diving off Hong Kong he would be able to see similar big fish, however, he didn't know whether this would ever become a reality. he called upon Hong Kong residents to treasure their waters in the same way as the people of Donsol.
A documentary of Ekin's experiences with the whale shark will be aired on TVB Jade Channel on 21 August 2007 at 11 pm.

Ekin attended " love the ocean, love whale sharks" program publicity. Ekin said that although he likes to to dive, learning to do so is physically demanding. He usually relies on badminton and bicyling to keep him fit enough to dive. Reporters asked if he would take Yoyo to dive with him. Ekin laughed and said he hadn't forced her to do so, because diving tests your physique. He was asked if he considered an ocean bottom wedding. Ekin said that it isn't everyone who can dive, you can't force people to do water sports. Ekin said that on land sports were good and leave the water sports to enjoy with friends. The filming of the dark ocean bottom actually alarmed the film crew. As soon as the filming was finished they immediately got out of the water.
Regarding reports that Yoyo since moving in with Ekin is not in the mood to work, and often arrives late, causing the film crews to be resentful. Ekin to clear this up for her said that he believed this was unlikely as she was a highly professional actress.

Ekin attended the awards ceremony for the winners of the Gundam photography competition. The competition was jointly sponsored by Bandai the manufacturer of the gundam toys and Canon cameras. Ekin is a spokesman for the Canon Ixus range of cameras. Ekin was the special guest to open the Expo by cutting the ribbon and also to present the prizes to the winners. As a fan of Gundam, Bandai also gave him the opportunity to design his own Gundam figure. 老虎 (Tiger) MS-07B - Gouf (ver. E).
Ekin bought toys when he first started to earn money. he said actually buying toys can be a kind of investment, and in fact his collection's value had increased significantly. Reporters asked him if his girlfriend forbade him to buy toys. He laughed and said that he rarely buys toys now as he doesn't have the time to build them, but that they look at them together. Reporters wanted to know what he liked now, still laughing he said interested in many things.
Recently his own investments in the stock marked had eaten money now the stock market crashed. However, he hadn't let them go. Ekin explained that Shan Shan's boyfriend Michael was knowledgeable about the stock market and he had bought stock with him. Originally he had made money. He was asked how much money he lost. He laughed and said he didn't look daily, regardless probably will go up again, but he probably won't play again with stocks.
