Last night Ekin attended Calvin Choy's wedding. Many other celebrities also attended including Hacken Lee, Jerry Lam and his wife, Winnie Lau, Jackie Chung, Alex Fong and Stephen Fung.

Calvin Choi and his new wife also congratulated Ekin at midnight when his birthday began. He said " Today besides being my wedding, it is also Ekin's birthday." They went on to give Ekin a birthday cake. The guests left ion the early hours of the morning. When Ekin left he was caught by reporters and asked about his birthday wish. He expressed a wish for a peaceful world.

Tonight Ekin celebrated his 39th birthday at a hot pot restaurant. Yoyo Mung had indicated earlier that she was busy working, yet she arrived at the scene of the birthday celebration to meet with Ekin. She wouldn't talk to reporters, but she wore a very sweet smile. The two are still in the developing stage of their relationship and this was the first year that Yoyo has helped him to celebrate his birthday. Yoyo arrived early at about 7:45pm to congratulate Ekin in his birthday. She told reporters that she had some free time in her schedule and so could come to celebrate with Ekin. She left at around 9: 30 pm. Ekin was willing to accept reporter questions. However during the that time he took a call on his cell phone, and afterwards told reporters that it was his sister. Reporters wanted to know his opinion on Nic Tse and Cecilia's recent marriage, Ekin laughed and said, he had been parting company with girlfriends and only just start a new relationship. He added however, that he was happy for Nic and Cecilia. However regarding Gigi's new relationships he was not willing to comment.

This year for his birthday Ekin received a limited edition watch, and also 3 badminton racquets. Reporters wanted to know what gift Yoyo had given him. Ekin said he didn't open it yet, but then he added that he had a good many female friends. Reporters asked what his birthday wish would be. Ekin thought a little and then he said that he hoped Hong Kong would promote badminton. Reporters talked about the fact that Chu Ling Ling also found love on the badminton court, Ekin laughed and said he would have a good understanding next time he played with Ling Ling. He didn't rise to the bait of whether he had an understanding with Yoyo, but changed the subject and said he had an understanding with Lai Lokyi. Ekin also congratulated his good friend Calvin Choi on his marriage.

The day before yesterday, together with friends, Ekin celebrated his birthday at a hot pot restaurant. Yoyo had a short break in her filming schedule and brought a homemade cake and red wine to celebrate. She caused Ekin to be sweetly touched. Reporters made detailed enquiries when she left, wondering if she had specially asked for time off to celebrate with Ekin. She denied that this was the case and said that it just happened that she had some free time. She was also asked whether she would get together with Ekin so that just the two of them could celebrate. She said that she had to return to work, but it was unlikely there would be another celebration. Then they wanted to know of she had personally made the birthday cake, to which she merely smiled and didn't answer. To the questions regarding whether she would celebrate Mid Autumn Festival with Ekin she just smiled sweetly.

After Yoyo left Ekin and his friends continued to celebrate, but his face was also full of smiles. He admitted he was happy and in reference to the cake said, " Happy, how sweet!" He was asked about his presents, he said that Shan shan had given him a hat and a jacket. He denied that Yoyo had given him a present until reporters pointed out that she had brought the cake. He then admitted that Yoyo had brought the cake for everyone to eat, together with the wine.

In the past whenever ask Ekin about his feelings for Yoyo he always says "developing". Reporters pushed and so Ekin said that they were " steadily developing". As to whether they would celebrate his birthday together, Ekin indicated that it was unlikely, because Yoyo was working and he had lots of friends.

Reporters asked Ekin whether Yoyo had given him a Good Bye kiss, Ekin made an exasperated noise and then went on to say that Shan Shan's daughter had. Reporters also pursued Yoyo to ask her about the kiss. When Ekin heard of that he thought it was foolish because neither would entertain this topic of talk. He added that the relationship was "one step further and steadily developing" reporters immediately asked if will get married or set up house. Ekin said they were too quick, and the answer was "No, and in addition this was not a good topic of talk. Nic and Cecilia's marriage was brought up again, but Ekin merely said, "They are quick, I am slow, but naturally favorable"

Jordan Chan was asked what he had given Ekin for his birthday, he threw up his hands, "House, boat, woman...he has all of them" As to questions about Yoyo he said that he hadn't met her.

A few days later when Yoyo was at another event, she finally admitted that she had personally made the cake for Ekin's birthday. She said that she liked to eat, and added that this was the first time she had made a cake. However she denied that she had learned for Ekin. Reporters suggested that after Ekin received the cake he wanted to keep it and not eat it, at that Yoyo looked embarrassed and said that she had not been there long because she had to work.

Ekin once again admitted that he had a girlfriend on his birthday, in the same way as he did seven years before. At that time the admission caused his career to plummet, this time however it seems to be increasingly prosperous. However Yoyo didn't admit and corrected reporters saying she was a friend, even though Ekin had said that the relationship had gone one step further.

Yoyo was asked whether if she saw Gigi she would be embarrassed, Yoyo didn't know how to respond but she said she was unlikely to be embarrassed.

Ekin will play national hero 霍元甲. After ten years, Ekin's old friend Jordan Chan will also collaborate with him on this drama playing 陈真. In the drama they will start out as enemies and then become friends. For the performance they will need to shave their heads. Jordan laughed and said he would cut his long hair for Ekin, because he really wants to do this drama and work with Ekin again, so it is not necessary to make a fuss. He acknowledged that it had been more than ten years since they had collaborated and they had never worked together on a television drama. Jordan said that he was very excited at the prospect, and he was looking forward to working with Ekin again. The last movie they worked together on was Hot War. In that movie they were special fighters, but this time it will be Jing Wu style Chinese Kung Fu.

Jordan of course couldn't resist making fun of Ekin and his new girlfriend Yoyo. They will be filming in Shanghai from the end of the month, so Jordan said he had chosen an exquisite badminton racquet to bring to Shanghai, so when they have free time he can have a feeling communication with Ekin. If Ekin brings Yoyo to Shanghai, then he will single handedly play them both.

Yesterday 鞠觉亮 revealed that a thirty episode drama <霍元甲> would begin filming next month. He told reporters that he wanted fresh actors to play the serious parts. 关锦鹏 will supervise, he will be responsible for the script and the choice of actors. However 鞠觉亮 will be the director. Ekin Cheng acts as 霍元甲, Jordan Chan acts as 陈真. The director said that this new edition will have more emphasis on the patriotism than the older version. He felt that the 1980 version's Chinese soul was somewhat indistinct, this new version however will be filmed in accordance with the authentic background of 霍元甲. Still the original ending, as he values history. He wants to authentically show the process of how 霍元甲 from a popular martial arts fist teacher grows up to become a patriotic hero.

Ekin has already been fixed to play 霍元甲, the director explained that Ekin had an air of the hero type of actor. On the action side he is also not bad. This will let him perform 霍元甲 very easily and give the audience a new fresh feeling. This will be his first time to perform this kind of role. The director said that Ekin had already shaved his hair to prepare.

As to 霍元甲's love story there will be a new angle in the new edition. In the new edition 霍元甲 will be a very traditional man, so to 赵倩男 his feelings will be comparatively hesitant. We will arrange for 赵倩男 to pursue 霍元甲. The female role will possibly be played by either 高圆圆 or 董洁.

Regarding the choice of Jordan Chan for the role of 陈真, many people feel that this was unexpected, because he is too comedic in peoples minds. However the director 鞠觉亮 feels that Jordan's acting skill is sufficient for him to undertake this role without problem. Yuan Woo Ping will be the martial arts director, to work with both Ekin and Jordan to coordinate the action scenes.

Regarding the theme music, they have two possibilities, they can continue to use the old theme music or invite 周杰伦 to record new theme music.

Recently Ekin has completely changed his look, cutting his hair very very short. Ekin is satisfied and everyone thinks the result is OK.

After I cut my hair, the feeling was very special. At the beginning when I got out of bed really not used to it and my head felt very cool. However, now used to it , it feels very comfortable. Early on I had heard some older people say that if you cut long hair very short afterwards could get sick. At first I laughed at this kind of talk, but who knew that three days after cutting my hair I would really get sick. Sometimes I really want to believe what the elderly have to say.

In this regard Ekin continually asks advice from other friends who have shaved heads, such as Meter Chen, In particular he wanted to know how to protect his scalp. Meter told him to wear a hat. The result of this was that for his birthday each of his colleagues gave him a hats as birthday presents.

His friends have teased him that because he often plays badminton with Yoyo, the healthy effects of playing have changed and he gets sick. Ekin pursued them for revenge.

A few days ago Ekin filmed a Canon Camera special edition advertisement, in addition he took pictures and with a number of new TVB young actors, to them, Ekin immediately became the elder brother. Ekin also mentioned that he had been a spokesman for canon for five years, this filming was for a special edition, however he hadn't collected any special reward, but each time he will have a new camera.

Ekin filmed in the sandy field of a villa, during his free time, he both played with a model airplane and tried out the new camera. He smiled and and said he also will obtain a new camera as a gift for himself. He was asked if he seek to use Yoyo as a model to test out the camera. he laughed and said he didn't necessarily want to find her to try out the camera. Reporters pointed to fact that he could take pictures of playing badminton. Ekin immediately availed himself of the chance to discuss the idea of presenting to the public an athlete's album of photographs. Essentially photograph authentic male athletes, because he likes men's muscles. Reporters wanted to know why not women. Ekin said that females already have plenty of people take pictures, as more attractive than men. He openly admitted he also would like to represent Hong Kong's team of athletes, what a pity it's already too late.

Reporters asked whether He would take pictures of Yoyo for this project. Ekin 's face looked immediately embarrassed. He only said he didn't know. He went on to to say that most important was to see whether suit's everybody and whether focus interest. Again reporters asked if he focused interest. he said that he strictly is talking about this brand of camera. Reporters suggested that perhaps a badminton sportswear company may come looking for the two of them to film an advertisement of "his and her" clothing. Ekin quickly said "his and her" clothing isn't popular. Reporters pointed out that Nic and Cecilia wear like this. Ekin smiled and said everyone is different, he hasn't before tried to do this because each actor has a unique personality.

Ekin also spoke of his book that was released in July this year. Sales have been extremely good. Soon a Japanese version will be released, he said that the sales volume was even better than album sales, but he didn't yet receive his royalties, although it is not a lot of money, he laughed and said he already had plans.

Additionally Gigi in a weekly publication interview had said that during life with Ekin there had been laughter and tears. Ekin indicated that he would not make comment. He also refused to comment on Gigi's new French boyfriend. Reporters pursued the topic and Ekin finally in a filthy mood said he hadn't met him.

Yesterday Ekin, Eric Kwok, Chris and Stanley Kwan attended a British loudspeaker company B&W 40th anniversary and product announcement. At the same time the long-lasting impact awards were given out.

Even though Ekin and Yoyo's relationship is developing it is unlikely that they will be able to spend their first Christmas or Valentines day together because of work. Ekin answered with one sentence " Career is more important" In fact recently Ekin has been busy with movie publicity for "Heavenly Mission" and filming advertisements, that he hasn't even had time to go to play badminton.

Ekin last month together with Jordan will have to shave his head to film the mainland drama 霍元甲 filming is expected to take 3 or 4 months. At present though he is still wearing just very short hair as filming has not yet started. He was teased as to howbeing away would affect his badminton development with Yoyo. He laughed and answered that he now wanted to develop his career. Reporters mentioned that Jordan was envious of his new love, but Ekin said that an hour after Jordan says something it already doesn't matter, so he didn't worry about Jordan. He was asked whether he will ask Yoyo to keep him company while he is filming, but he said he didn't have any such plan.

Ekin managed to find time within his busy schedule to visit a home for the elderly. While there, he smoothly managed to publicize his first film of the year " Heavenly Mission" At the home he besides doing gymnastics with the seniors, also gave them presents. in addition he engaged in deep discussions with the seniors. Ekin knew perfectly well that the reporters questions were aimed at his relationship with Yoyo but he feigned not understanding and said that Niki was also in the movie, but today he had some free time. Every question the reporters asked he joked and avoided answering the questions. As to whether he understood how to get along with seniors, Ekin said that in the past he had done a children's program exercise and seniors are similar to children.

Soon Ekin will go to the mainland to film for 3 or 4 months, he has never before left Hong Kong for more than 3 months at a time, so considers this time to be a life test. Ekin replied that life is never settled, no matter whether good or bad, many things affect it. Ekin said that the world is not safe but he has crisis management. when asked who he would miss, Ekin craftily replied that it was only his cats that would have difficulty being away from. He added that he would keep in touch with his mother.

Regarding the magazines that spread rumors that Yoyo was pregnant, Ekin said follow someone else, it wasn't true and he had nothing to say. Reporters persisted about whether he thought Yoyo was gaining weight. He said that fat or thin it really didn't matter.

Yesterday in his capacity as ambassador for the Wish Foundation, Ekin attended the drive Hong Kong, Shanghai activity with model Chen Pei Jia. He said that unfortunately when the time comes for the driving event he will be unable to participate because he will be on the mainland filming a television drama. However, last year he helped the Wish Foundation to make a huge christmas card. He added that he feels helping children is very significant.

He explained that when he was young his dream was to be an actor, but now his wish is to be a regional representative, especially for the Sai Kung area. Reporters smiled and said he would have to get elected first. Ekin spoke of the complexity of the process, and said that if he wasn't able to do that then he would like to be a director. As to other wishes he indicated that family and health were most important to him, if he has time would want to accompany his family and travel. As to friends he keeps a happy relationship.

Additionally yesterday, Ekin's personal blog was invaded by a person using the name Gigi Leung. This person posted a large number of Gigi's photographs, however they didn't leave a message. A spokesman for Ekin's record company BMA said it would seem that the implication was malicious, but possibly it was a joke. This has happened before in other places with the person using the same name.

Ekin is currently busy promoting his new movie Heavenly Mission, however neither Stephen Fung nor Alex Fong have been seen. . Heaven Mission is about to be released on November 17, 2006, however to date only Ekin and Niki have been seen at the publicity events. Originally a 5 day various place publicity event was planned, but because 3 of the actors fail to appear, it has been cancelled. The BMA boss said that the fact that the other actors have not worked on the promotions will weaken the power of the movie. Resentfully he added that a company needs help to promote a movie. He said that the movie had consumed a lot of manpower and resources, and this is the final step.

Stephen's company spokesperson indicated that Stephen will certainly attend next month's premiere. Alex Fong is currently filming in France. He said that because of work he has have to give up work on promotion of this movie.
