Ekin was featured in Men's Uno this week. Ekin's picture bears the caption "I don't care about success." The writer spoke about having watched Feel 100% and the ideal of Jerry in that movie. He noted that in those years Ekin's long hair was his trademark and Gigi was not yet his girlfriend, however have to realize that this was 10 years ago. The Ekin of 2005 no longer has his trademark long hair, he hasn't reached the top of his profession, he is not the kind of person to denounce the dominance of young actors yet he has found a return to himself and life's significance.

Yesterday afternoon, Ekin and Lin Bao Qia were in Sai Kung to film a water scene for the new TVB drama 随时候命. Fortunately the weather is already warming up so the time in the water was not a problem. However, for safety the two warmed up riding bicycles before beginnning work on the scene. Ekin wore the whole equipment to go into the water, it was not easy and so it took him a little while to adapt to wearing it. Ekin likes water sports but because of work hasn't had much opportunity to go out in the ocean for fun. He felt though that the weather is not yet good enough, when the sunshine is a little more, then it will be even better to be out on the ocean.

Today Ekin was in Japan to film an advertisement for Seiko watches. Ekin has been the spokesman for this product for more than a year. The site of the filming was formerly a WWll Japanese Army training place, now it has become a very characteristic film factory.
The director in order to make the advertisement stand out Ekin had to do a lot of action. He needed to warm up his muscles so that the outside action would not be difficult. the director wanted him to jump over a stone wall using only one hand, however because the action was to fast for the camera to capture well, Ekin needed to repeat the jump 70 times before it was captured satisfactorily. However Ekin's face didn't alter at all despite the repeats. Ekin said, " It's nothing, just like martial arts training, in my leisure time I participate in sports, it is not difficult for me."
Ekin's remuneration from Seiko is significant, however he feels that the biggest acquisition is recognition of Seiko's excellence. Because Ekin likes to collect high quality trademark watches, immediately Seiko chairman gave him as a gift one the new collection of watches which will be stores globally in July.
In addition when Ekin is in Tokyo he likes to shop and go out to eat and have a good time. Due to the fact that in Tokyo he is well known, he decided to wear a hat in the street as a disguise. But he was still recognized by fans who wanted to take a photograph with him. he admitted that this idea really failed.

Today Ekin and Nikki attended an activity aimed at promoting awareness of the need to have periodic eye examinations, promoted by FM 926 . Ekin and Nikki called on residents to have eye examinations to highlight the need for corrective lenses and also the detection of other eye diseases. Ekin like Nikki is shortsighted and has always needed to wear glasses or contact lenses. In the past he didn't want to wear the glasses, as a result everything looked blurry. He could only identify people by their shape. Even if someone greeted him, a lot of times he didn't know who the person was. He was accredited by the media as having a bad attitude, in fact he didn't see clearly when he was greeting people. He decided to wear contact lenses when he started to travel to places like the USA, London and The Netherlands, he wanted to be able to see the world clearly and so from then in he has worn contact lenses. Ekin was asked if other than shortsightedness he had any other problems. Ekin indicated that this was the only thing, except that the color of his left eye was lighter, but that was hereditary. In addition there is diabetes in his family which also carries a greater risk of eye problems. He said that he often bought glasses and lenses and also in passing had eye examinations. However he knows that the long term use of contact lenses can cause a higher chance of eye injury, so nowadays he controls the amount of time he wears them.

Yesterday Ekin was again filming for his new TVB Drama Always on Standby. In the drama he has a number of dangerous scenes. The latest scenes involved hanging from the helicopter at least 6 feet high. Even though the weather was sunny and hot Ekin as usual executed the scenes without problem, even though a thunderstorm warning was in effect. Ekin wanted very much to sit in the helicopter so he has sacrificed three months to make this drama. He indicated that about 26 days will finish the filming, after that he plans to go on vacation with his parents. When reporters asked if Gigi would accompany him, Ekin closed up and would not comment. Also last night was Charmaine's 30th birthday. Ekin along with a number of other guests came to a party to celebrate.
