Ekin and Charmaine at 10am were at a shopping mall to film more scenes for the new TVB drama 随时候命. In the drama they play the part of a couple and so they strolled around the shopping plaza to enjoy the day. For both this is the first time they have collaborated and so from time to time they still consider each other's acting skills to give the illusion of wandering around the shopping mall. Ekin said that the mall had already altered beyond recognition. Charmaine was asked if she was anxious about gossip concerning herself and Ekin. She immediately said this would be a mistake because Ekin already has a girlfriend so she couldn't be the third person in an affair. When Ekin was asked about it he seriously replied that he had never considered that there was a chance to let her be the 3rd person in an affair. Ekin was asked if he could ever go window shopping with his girlfriend Gigi in Hong Kong or whether could only do that in other parts of the country. Ekin said that indeed they have the chance but reporters didn't yet catch them. Ekin's main area of activity is in Sai Kung, he said that as a public figure he long ago had to adapt to ensure his privacy.

For four year Ekin has been the spokesman for Canon cameras. He has also a number of times has filmed advertisements for them. Even though he was suffering from a cold he still was most professional in front of the camera. In the past Ekin has been both to England and Urmumqi to make advertisements. However this time, because he needs to be in Hong Kong to work on the filming of 随时候命 the venue for the advertisement was altered to Hong Kong airport. Ekin commented that he was filming the drama at the airport and so also filmed the advertisement there. This time the advertisement features a number of special effects. He had to support the camera in front of a blue screen which would put on different actions.
Ekin smiled and added, "Don't erroneously believe that I look like a fool, it is actually very skillful, everything depends on my ability to create an illusion. Fortunately I usually concentrate on the idea of a daydream."
Reporters wanted to discuss the reward for such an advertisement.
Ekin said, " Most important is to keep a good relationship together with feeling happy with the filming process."
Through out the filming Ekin constantly consulted with the director, studying how to make each angle perfect. Ekin explained that he always has interest in the picture but temporarily the director is not satisfied. Ekin said that the director exerts much pressure.
Additionally his girlfriend Gigi fell al home and sprained her foot.
Ekin said, "She is clumsy, I remind her to take care, especially on the stairs. It is unfortunate, but luckily it is only a sprain. This incident reminds him of the importance of insurance, as actors often have dangerous action in a film."
For protection he has already puchased several million dollars of insurance. He was asked if he also bought insurance for his girlfriend, but he replied that was her own decision.

Zhong Jia Xin yesterday was promoting Aerosoles, she is also currently working with Ekin on the new TVB drama 随时候命. She did not expect to be finished with her parts until the end of May. She felt that working with Ekin was great fun, and also because he mainly makes movies his reactions to the directors is fast and so she is learning many things from him. She also said that Ekin loved to play electronic games and also other games so that it was impossible to be melancholy around him, in fact sometimes he joked so much it was almost impossible to keep control.

The Global Record Company of Universal and TVB Media are collaborating to release an album featuring the new songs of ten male singers. The singers included, Hacken Lee, Ekin Cheng, Eason Chan, Chen Hao, Cheng Jia Ying , Lin Wen Long etc. At a press conference the company announced it's plans for the album " All About Men". At the same time they also took pictures for a poster. Hacken Lee, wearing a pink jacket, sat in a chair in the middle with the other singers standing or sitting around him, it seemed to make Hacken Lee stand out with elder brother status. With regard to this however, Hacken was most modest. He said he was one of the last to sign and only then was the line-up decided. He said they probably only gave him the chair because he was more wrinkled with age and wouldn't be able to endure standing up, everybody knows that absolutely is not for stand out status, and in fact nobody don't mind much, he also emphasis ed that in this company he didn't feel like and elder brother. The two big companies TVB and Universal each spend a seven place figure. Hacken also felt that all singers had to work hard otherwise unable to take advantage of opportunities. Ekin sings the theme for the new TVB Drama 随时候命.

Ekin, Angelica Lee, Aaron Kwok and Daniel Wu are the lead actors for the new movie from Benny Chan, Divergence. Ekin and Angelica act as husband and wife, so hot kissing scenes are inevitable. However the bedroom scenes were limited by the director to just talking about feelings, however Ekin felt that that was a pity. The weather was hot during filming, Ekin was concerned that persperation would smell and affect Angelica, so for the scenes the ventilation was specially increased. Ekin said that if there was such a smell it would be most embarrassing. Aaron acts under the suspicion that Ekin's wife is the girlfriend who disappearedx without a trace ten years before. So when he encounters her in a supermarket he gets crazy and pursues her. Later Aaron and Ekin fight because of jealousy. Interestingly, in Stormriders seven years previously Ekin and Aaron also fought over a woman only that time it was Kristy Yang, this time it is Angelica Lee. In the movie Angelica plays two roles. She is Aaron's girlfriend who disappeared ten years before and also Ekin's wife. Ekin was still caused some embarrasment by the bed scene.
"when wefilmed this bed scene, because the air temperature was hot the director wanted me to follow after and hug Angelica. In the heat I always sweat, she wears a sleeveless top for the scene but I have a high degree of anxiousness that sweat will affect her, so ask that there is extra ventilation to try to avoid this situation."

Yesterday April 19, 2005 was the premiere for the movie the main actors, Aaron Kwok, Daniel Wu, Ekin Cheng and Angelica Lee in addition to other cast members and director Benny Chan attended the event. Angelica in a low cut dress entered the scene on the arms of both Aaron and Ekin, even though while filming in Shanghai she had injured her left foot for the sake of her look she wore high heeled shoes. She laughed and said that immediately the event was over she would change again into flat shoes. The next day early they will leave for South East Asia to further publicize the movie. She hoped her foot would have enough time to rest.
On April 28,2005 the movie Divergence will premiere across Asia. It has been described as the kind of movie that once you begin to watch it, you wouldn't even miss any to go to the bathroom. Because of this it is doubly being looked forward too. Benny Chan and the lead actors together with his creative staff will be visiting Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou to hold press conferences to promote the movie.
Universal Pictures has invested $40,000,000 to make a violent, action, suspense thriller. Director Benny Chan once more worked with An Xi to play up the psychological mental games. The original plot originated from a Beijing Opera story.

Yesterday the cast of Divergence together with director Benny Chan met with press and publicized the movie in both Beijing and Shanghai. Angelica wore red but still needed support from Ekin to climb the steps to the stage. Ekin and Aaron both spoke about their roles. Ekin said that he always looked for a serious literary script, he hoped the audience would be able to identify his acting skill. Director Benny Chan was charged with the fact that the end of the movie appears to be vague and hurried. Benny Chan was unapologetic but he did note that the movie had to be 100 minutes, he said that he purposely wants the audience to think about the movie, adding that if you explain to much then the movie is no longer interesting.

Ekin in his role as Marine Ambassador for the WWF, together with Nikki Chow united more than 1000 nature lovers for the annual Hoi Ha Wan Charity walk. Ekin and Nikki arrived at the scene in Sai Kung by yacht. This is the second year Ekin has held the office of Marine Ambassador and presided over this event. Together the two celebrities advocated to the residents of Hong Kong the importance of protecting the fragile marine environment.
Ekin has always been a passionate hiker. His record for this walk is about 3 hours. He spoke of a time in Middle school when he had been walking in the mountains, partway through the journey he made a mistake and missed the trail getting suck in a thorny thicket.
Reporters asked if he had influenced Gigi's love of nature. Ekin replied that Gigi was an ambassador for the same organization, but she was for the land, while he was for the ocean. He also said that usually they don't have the opportunity to go walking in the mountains together.
Reporters noted that Ekin's eyes seemed bloodshot. He explained that all month he has to rush to film 随时候命, and the action in the drama doesn't lack danger. Especially hanging under the helicopter to make a rescue.
Nikki told reporters that although she had been diving three times for a movie, since she had nearly drowned in primary school she really didn't know how to swim. Reporters of course suggested that Ekin teach her to swim. Ekin laughed and said he was surprised they would ask such a question because she had learned for a year already, but they would not necessarily know that.

Ekin and Lin Bao Qia were filming for TVB's new drama 随时候命 at an icerink yesterday. The plot of this scene is that Ekin brings Luo Qia's son to skate to help him get rid of some mental problems. However, Before he helps the child he wants to help Luo Qia. Luo Qia said that at the beginning of the year was the first time he went skating in Beijing. He fell and hurt his left hip and also bumped into a girl scaring her.
Ekin on the other hand has had some experience rollerblading and so on the ice he looked very professional. Reporters noted that Ekin also climbs mountains, goes in the ocean and in all these activities seems fearless, isn't there anything he is afraid of? Ekin laughed and answered that the thing he was most afraid of was being bored. Most afraid that there would be no one to keep him company to have fun. Actually, if there is no one to keep him company the only thing he can do is to ride his bicycle alone. However, riding a bicycle alone is also boring.
