Ekin always wants to challenge his physical power to the maximum. So he has decided that from the beginning of next year he plans to climb a world record high peak. As an ambassador for the Make a Wish Foundation, Ekin was recently invited to take part in a conquer a world record alpine charity action. The challenge for himself Ekin knows is the 8,848 meters above sea level Himalayas and the 5,895 meters above sea level Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, will select one of the two to accomplish. Ekin said that when he received this information it was good, because it roused him to exert himself as it is one of his life goals. But to conquer a several thousand meters above sea level mountain is not easy. There would have to be a lot of research and then coordination with mountain climbing experts, together with medical staff to make a team to climb the mountain. The special instruction needed would not be short.
Also the official site for Leave me Alone opened today. There is a trailer and a gallery together with a few wallpapers. The 'making of' and the 'online game' are still under construction.

Tomorrow October 4th is Ekin's birthday. reporters caught up with Gigi to ask her if she had bought Ekin a gift, and how the couple intended to celebrate. Gigi said that Ekin was very easy to talk to and so selecting a gift for him was not difficult. Gigi would not comment on where they would celebrate and appealed to everyone to refrain from trying to track them. She did indicate they would have dinner at a secret location and the reporters were not invited.
Gigi , Ekin, Frankie Lam and Kemix Kwok all live in Sai Kung. Recently both Frankie and Kenix's homes were broken into. Gigi said she was not worried because she keeps a dog, has high tech protection and also Ekin lives nearby.

Ekin's birthday this year on October 4th was truly intimate, due the the fact that he and his girlfriend had already in advance celebrated his birthday. It's no wonder that on the night of his birthday Gigi was confident that the media wouldn't find the place they would celebrate his birthday. Ekin said that they did see one reporter at the restaurant, and they shouldn't have been found by the media, but there were no pictures by others. Shan Shan gave him some luggage for traveling. Ekin's birthday wish is to save enough money to travel in outer space by 2008 or perhaps sooner.

Today Ekin attended a charity activity for Leukemia sponsored by Playstation 2. The event took place at Hong Kong's Harbor City. The event had a Halloween theme, there were children dressed up as ghosts and horses, and also a red haired model in a sexy Halloween witch costume. As October 4th was Ekin's birthday The fund's sponsor gave him their new game machine and game cd as a birthday gift.
Ekin was asked about his birthday gifts. He laughed and said he received some gifts among them a practical bag. He explained that he had to work on the day of his birthday so he celebrated by having a meal with friends in advance. He said they did encounter some reporters but finally he was successful in escaping. In the future Ekin is likely to take part in a climbing the Himalaya Mountains charity project but at present he has not yet made a decision. this is becaus he firstly needs to find a stonewall near home to practice, also need to look at how is the air temperature. As to this years birthday wishes he hopes that he can do many good things outside of work besides work.
Eason's daughter has the same birthday as Ekin. He was asked if it meant that he would be a special person to the baby. Ekin smiled and said that he was not that familiar with Eason and it would depend on her parents.Ekin indicated that sometime in the future they would probably get together for dinner.

Ekin will play the part of a chef who makes a dish that loses his famous reputation in a new broadcast drama. In fact when he was younger he did enter the kitchen for a while. However he is very fond of cooking a meal together with good friends.
I feel with good friends on one side to prepare and on the other side to eat is a very happy state of affairs. There was a time when with good friends went on vacation. The hotel room was a kitchen and living room suite. Nearby was conveniently a good market so we went shopping and cooked a meal. We were each responsible to make one dish vegetables. I of course selected the fastest simple and convenient salad.
Besides making the salad Ekin said that steak is also very easy to make. Basically as long as select a piece of top quality steak and drop it in a pan and fry for a while then the steak is very fantastic.
I have also at times not cooked it enough so make not cooked steak. Pretty funny.
However although Ekin is fearless to cook a meal, if have to clean the kitchen he is very afraid.
If one sees the kitchen inside with oil saturate then afraid. I often think if in the future have a machine specializing in cleaning the kitchen then very wonderful.

Ekin and Charlene worked together to take the pictures for the publicity posters for their new movie Leave Me Alone The poster shows the side of Ekin's two characters, between them are Charlene's eyes. Ekin said that the two characters were very different so to portray each was difficult. He said that for the pictures he purposely didn't shave or do his hair as felt this was better for the character's image. He said that as soon as did one picture the photographer wanted him to immediately change to the other character.
Last year Ekin collaborated with Karena Lam in the movie Floating Landscape. Karena has described Ekin as having the kind of manner that a girl ask for in her dreams of a boyfriend. The Universal film company once again plans to pair Ekin and Karena in a new romantic comedy.
Ekin also reportedly received an 8 figure remuneration for his role as Seiko's Asia spokes person for their Sportura line of watches. In order to demonstrate the watch Ekin climbed a four story indoor wall. His success received hearty applause from the press.

Last night Ekin as the JS spokes man together with the JS cosmetics company opened a JS theme bar in Shanghai, at the New World Ark bar. Ekin together with JS came up with the idea for the bar and Ekin will be the owner for a month from October 17 - November 16, 2004. Last night the bar officially opened and Ekin presided over an opening activity, stopping over in Shanghai for 5 hours.
Ekin was very elegantly dressed, he indicated that during his many years in the entertainment industry he has collected many items of clothing. Ekin performed the JS theme song and also Xin Zhao, some reporters felt that the sound levels were not good, but Ekin said that it was merely that the Cantonese language differs in strength.
There were many fans at the event, and they shouted cheering for him, some also called out wanting to know Gigi's favorite sport, causing Ekin some embarrassment. Later talking to reporters, Ekin pointed out that the enthusiastic love of fans is not the same as romantic love, and that you can't mix up these ideas. He feels that he treasures his fans enthusiasm. However, he also indicated that in his heart is only Gigi. He said that he knew they all wanted to know when they would marry. He would tell everyone at that time but right now it was unlikely. After that he became irritated and refused to mention her again.

Today is the second aniversary of the death of Hong Kong singer Roman Tam. Joey Yeung one of Roman's students went to his graveside and took fresh flowers and offered incense for sacrifce together with Roman's former assistant Ah Dong and other former good friends.
Roman's only disciple Ekin was unable to visit to offer a sacrifice to his teacher because currently he is working in Shanghai. Ekin said, " I am not in Hong Kong so I am unable to attend a ceremony. However, when I return I will definitely go and offer a sacrifice, but I am unlikely to let the press take pictures.

A few days ago was the anniversary of Roman Tam's death. Although Ekin was busy working on that day, he had earlier gone with Shan Shan to visit the grave and make and offering to his teacher. Ekin told his teacher many things that were on his mind, but also the good news that his new album is selling well. He said he felt relieved and hoped that from heaven Roman would bless and protect him. He hopes that next year he can release a mandarin album.
Recently, Ekin has been in Shanghai to publicize the Shisheido men's skin care line JS. Chen Guangrong has written a theme song for the advertisement. The first performance brought a warm reaction. In addition Chen Guangrong just made public his involvement with actress Karena Lam. Karena worked with Ekin in both Floating Landscape and Heroic Duo.
Ekin's new movie Leave Me Alone is scheduled to be released in mid November. Ekin talked about his double role in this movie. He plays both a deep, strong, violent character and also a homosexual more feminine character. Ekin described the roles as challenging but the type of characters were required by the script. He also noted that at the 38th Golden Horse Awards the last time he was there, the biggest win was for the movie Lan Yu which was a film about a homosexual relationship. That movie starred Liu Yue who was also in Floating Landscape with Ekin. Charlene Choi plays the girlfriend of the older brother. It is her first adult role moving away from the fresh faced young girl image.

Yesterday Ekin and Karena Lam together with Hu Bing and Bobo Chan attended the start filming ceremony for their new movie. Karena recently made public her love affair with musician Chen Guangrong. Chen Guangrong is both Ekin's friend and also his album supervisor. In the movie Karena plays a woman who is interested in two men. This means that she has scenes kissing both Hu Bing and Ekin. Karena said that in the scene with Hu Bing the director required many camera angles with the result that the scene took two or three hours. Hu Bing laughed and said that by the end his mouth was very weary. There will be another hot scene in which she will kiss Ekin. She was asked what her boyfriend would think about that and if she had his approval. She said that there was no need because it was simply work. Ekin denied that collaborating with his friend's girlfriend would cause him special embarrassment. He said, " It is unlikely, for both of us it is work. Everyone here is a professional actor."
