The stars of 6 Heroic Men including Ekin Cheng, Hacken Li and Andy Hui put on camouflage clothing to take pictures for the publicity posters. Andy Hui held a baby in his arms. Hacken Li on the spot said that he admired his good fortune. Hacken also talked about a bedroom scene he filmed with Candy Lo for the movie, unfortunately, the inspection control had decided to cut the scene. Both Hacken Li and Candy Lo were disappointed. Ekin has not yet finished filming. He indicated that at the present time starting work was really exhausting.

July will see the release of Ekin's new special album Discover. Since encountering the cold store of EEG, Ekin re-signed with BMG in April. News reports differ on the actual release date. Some giving July 4th, others July 8th. Regardless of the actual date, fans are looking forward to the album's release. The album will feature new songs from Ekin as well as selected older classic songs that were well loved by his fans. When the first new song was released to radio stations, fans reacted warmly and 心照 rocketed up the charts. It is a very different style and radio stations described it as a new Ekin. The second song to be released is much closer to his old style, returning again to deep feelings. Both new songs were written by Ekin's long time friend and collaborator Chen Guangrong.

Even though there has been nothing in three years Ekin has not been negligent or lazy and certainly did not adopt a 'give up' attitude. In fact if compare with before, he works even harder. He said" I used a non singer status to see the music circle. If you go listen to music you can see that you must be even more distinct." As to whether the closer you get to the music circle the more distant it becomes, Ekin laughed, " On the contrary just a moment ago it was the opposite. I feel that this is a good opportunity, it has allowed me to save sufficient ammunition to develop. My heart is fearless I am late."

It is reported that when the new special album is released Ekin will publicize it with a series of activities. In addition he will soon also be promoting the two movies he is currently starring in. It looks to be a busy month.

Recently Ekin and Charlene were in Thailand filming 阿孖有難. The local weather was very hot. Even filming inside there was no air conditioning, it served to make both Charlene and Ekin feel very fatigued to film. Charlene has to fire a gun in the movie. This is the first time for her and she talked of the noise bothering her, but she didn't want to wear earplugs. Ekin has a scene where he is surrounded by a lot of Thai actors. Ekin said that they incessantly talk the Thai language and it made him feel isolated.

Ekin and Jordan Chan together attended an activity at Neway today. Ekin had a cake for Jordan's 37th birthday which is on July 8th. Jordan wanted to know what Ekin would buy him for his birthday. Ekin said he hadn't thought, but maybe some lottery tickets, he had won before and maybe they would bring Jordan good luck. Jordan and Ekin's girlfriend Gigi both recently were guests of Ah Sam ( Sam Hui), Jordan teased Ekin and said that he had already decided that he insisted on Miss Leung. Ekin simply agreed with Jordan and kissed him on the cheek to wish him a good year. However, neither were willing to do it again.

Ekin's new album will be released July 8th also. He said he couldn't help but sigh with relief, making an album is really very difficult. Ekin talked of the importance of a singer's image, especially in the light of reports that Deep Ng, was involved with drugs. Ekin said that such reports invisibly affect Hong Kong's image. Ekin feels that it is the duty of singers to help to educate the next generation.

Jordan and Ekin will participate in a concert at Neway on July 31st. Tickets will only be available to fans who have purchased the new albums of both artists. Ekin and Jordan unveirled the poster at Neway.

Ekin yesterday released his new chosen album 'Discover'. It has been 3 years without a release of an album by him. Ekin honestly said he was nervous, but he felt that probably the record company was more nervous. His girlfriend Gigi has listened to his new songs and feels that they are OK. Originally Ekin had imagined thet with Gigi should try to create a song, it is a pity but there wasn't time. He was asked if he would seek to have Gigi write a song. He said that had been the original intent but this time it wasn't convenient. Ekin called himself the EP king. He said that many of his former albums had been EP's. he had even thought that this album could be an EP but the record company opposed the idea, and wanted a more significant album. Ekin hopes thet the new album will have a satisfactory achievement.

Reporters asked him about the Taiwan's Xu Chun Mei who is looking to make a movie of her life. At first she had wanted Li Ming to play her husband in the movie, but he has refused. Since then she has changed her target and is wanting to gave Ekin perform with her. Ekin's reaction was that it wasn't all bad to have someone admire you, because in this line of work you certainly need admirers, Anyway he said her behavior didn't cause anyone any harm so he was unlike;y to take if to heart. he also said that working in television in taiwan he had met Chun Mei before. Ekin said that if the script was suitable he may consider performing but it would be his manager that would make the decision. reperters then wanted to know if he would be prepared to cut his hair short as that would be a requirement of the role. Ekin laughed and said that Jordan was considering cutting his hair and so he should introduce Jordan to her. he was also asked about any hot scenes that mught be required. Ekin laughed again and said that if there had to be a scene with a kiss it would be convenient if Jordan was able to stand in.

Ekin returns to the music circle with the release of his his new album Discover. Ekin has consistently loved the ocean and this time the album's cover uses Hong Kong's sunshine and beaches for a backdrop. Ekin piloted his own private yacht to go out on the ocean to take pictures. He also carried his own small inflatable dingy to use to access the beach. On the return journey unexpectedly the dingy came loose and started to float in to the open ocean. Fortunately the yacht was equipped with a life sling to enable someone to go into the ocean to pick up the dingy and return it. Ekin said he had originally planned to go to Sai Ban island to take the pictures for the cover, but because there wasn't time he changed and used Sai Kung peninsula. He still carefully looked around for the ideal locality. Difficult as some places people play beach volleyball, so have to look elsewhere. Ekin indicated that the most dangerous when the infatable dinghy came adrift. His assistant immediately went into the ocean which caused Ekin some anxiety until everything was safe.

There were a number of camera shots in the ocean. Ekin was immersed in the water for 8 hours. It was very hard and very exhausting, however he said it didn't matter as a good result was important. Even though it was hard, he was pleased with the result.

Ekin has been interviewed by a number of radio stations and is also featured in several prominent magazines. He was asked why he had not attended Jordan's birthday celebration. Ekin said he didn't like to go out at night. The host speculated that maybe he was afraid Gigi would scold him as wasn't she fierce. He said no she wasn't, in fact he was more afraid that his mother would track him down for going out having fun.

Yesterday, Ekin and Jordan held an autograph session at Neway to autograph their cd's and fans could collect tickets for their mini-concert on July 31st. Several hundred people turned out. They both denied that it was a Record Company initiative to make money. They mutually supported each other and refused to take to heart whose fans made more noise or had the greater numbers. Even though there were thunderstorm warnings large numbers of fans braved the heavy rain to line up for autographs. The atmosphere was lively and the broadcast system was playing Ekin's new songs. Jordan pointed to the fact that probably 90% of the fans were Ekin's. He was generous and said he was happy to autograph for the 10% and refused to take it to heart. He said the that most important was the event was good. Ekin said that Jordan was strongly popular and he believed that the fans came to support both of them.

Ekin talked about the fact that this year is the 10th aniversary of the Young and Dangerous movies. He felt that it was suitable that he and Jordan should be together. He hoped could invite everyone to a banquet to celebrate.

Ekin and Gigi attended a music radio function with many other singers. Even though the two are a couple they did not interact with each other at the function, each alone chatted with other artists. In fact the two are rarely seen together at public events. The two refused to be photographed together other than in the large group photographs.

The Hong Kong music radio consistently supports and plays music from local musicians.

Recently Ekin filmed the MV for his new song Hurt Inside where Deng Zhaoxin is the female lead.
This is a very sad song and so to reinforce it with a sad story Deng Zhaoxin was requested to act Ekin’s blind girlfriend. It was her first time to act a blind girl, but she managed to do it well as Ekin is big boy type and they got along very well on location, which helped her get rid of any apprehension.
The MV was filmed at Saikung. There was a scene where Ekin held Deng in his arms and they swirled in the desolate valley. When they made the whirl, Ekin almost tripped over the vines and creepers on the ground. Fortunately the director shouted “cut” and they didn’t fall.
In this MV, Ekin and Deng had very close body contact which might make Gigi jealous.

Hong Qiaoling was the female lead in Ekin’s Nei Shang MV (BMG Version). It was said that in the MV she devoted her first on-screen kiss to Ekin. She said, “I was requested to kiss Ekin on his face. I felt both embarrassed and happy, as I’ve been having a fondness for Ekin and I think he is a very handsome guy.”

Recently a female fan of Ekin wrote several letters to BMG and Sansan’s company and requested to see and talk to Ekin. In the letters she told a story that few years ago she was in love with Leon Lai and when they were talking about marriage, Ekin intervened and grabbed her from Leon. And then they had a sweet time together for a few years but recently Ekin jilted her and left her heartbroken. She said she would like to seek justice and requested that they should have an open talk over this matter.

The reporter phoned Ekin and Ekin said he did read those letters which were as long and detailed as novels and that he was worried about this girl and hoped she could get over it soon.

Ekin said he couldn’t understand why this girl had selected him and not Leon as Leon is more handsome than him and that he hoped she would be more open-hearted and talk to her friends often so as not to harbor hatred any more.

Ekin’s new album is selling well and many CD shops have turned in the second order. People on the streets have said that his singing had improved a lot. Ekin was very happy to hear that and said one kind word would be a huge encouragement to him and he hoped that those who support him would love and respect themselves.

Ekin always loves water sports, especially surfing. There was a Typhoon in Hong Kong on July 16 and Ekin told the reporter that he had intended to go surfing but could not because he got work to do.
The Legislation Committee ceremony was held at the Cultural Center on July 17. Ekin and many other singers attended the ceremony. As a special guest of the ceremony, Ekin sang Xin Zhao and duplicated a big red TICK with spray paint, which indicated that all HK people will work together for a bright future.

Ekin will soon work with Aaron Kwok for a new movie Divergence. When reporters mentioned the rumored dispute with Aaron when they filmed Storm Riders, Ekin said that he would not mind what people say if this new movie can sell as well as Storm Riders.

The poster of the new movie Six Strong Guys has come out, but there are no names on the poster. It was said that there had been a dispute over whose name should be placed on the top. The film company could not decide on the sequence of the six men's names on the poster as each actor's agent company or music company incessantly phoned the film company requesting that their respective actor's name be placed close to the top, and the film company was so frustrated that they decided not to put any names on the first poster.
The film company’s manager Mr. Yu has confirmed the fact with the reporter and said that decision is yet to be made when they come out with a second poster.

Ekin attended a fundraiser with a number of other singers to raise money for the United Nations Childrens Fund UNICEF at the Hong Kong Science and Engineering University. Many of the children live in poverty and they do not have a clean source of water. They appealed to everyone to save water.

Yesterday the starting filming ceremony for Benny Chan's new film Divergence took place in Liyu Men Public Square. The leading actors Ekin Cheng, Aaron Kwok, Daniel Wu and Gallen Luo attended. The female lead actresses Angelica Lee and Ning Jing were not present. The event attracted several hundred fans who surrounded the square to watch. The film will begin filming in earnest in the middle of August. Aaron Kwok's fans were the loudest, continually cheering, and appeared to number the most. In contrast Ekin's fans were more refined and there were also many. They held up the name of their idol on cards to quietly show their support.

Aaron plays a police officer. He indicated that he would have a number of action scenes. He was very happy to have the cahnce to work with experienced actors and he hoped they would be able to make a good movie that audiences would enjoy.

Ekin is working with Benny Chan for the second time following Heroic Duo. Ekin indicated that this time the role had more depth. He will play the part of a famous attorney. Reporters asked him how it would feel to have to speak eloquently. Ekin laughed and said he talked to the media often and so was able to practice. He said he was confident of his ability to perform the role. When he saw the script he felt that the role would have a degree of difficulty. It is not a large action role but emphasises inner feelings. However he thinks this is a good thing as it will continue to allow his acting skills to progress.

Also it is his impression that it will be difficult to perform as several actors cooperate. He felt that this is a good thing because progress will be the goal rather than prominence of individual actors. The competition between acting skills can provide a spark. However he felt it was fortunate that the movie would be filmined in Hong Kong. He was asked whether he was anxious to work with Aaron, Daniel and Gallen in this movie, and whether they would fight over scenes. Ekin indicated that of course that was unlikely.He was also asked whether he thought that because he knew the director already he would be the one to sing the theme song. Ekin told reporters they were wrong. "Everyone seems top be concerned about the theme music. The director will unlikely plan this. Whether I sing the theme song is not important." Reporters also wanted to know whether Ekin wiould invite Gigi to be the guest at his concert in August. He indicated that it was unlikely and refused to comment further.

Since the space of three years Ekin has once more exploded onto the music scene with a new album. Many fans throught the internet asked him to autograph their cds. So yesterday Ekin was a HMV to autograph for fans. It was also announced that last week the album had the highest Chinese Language sales volume. At the head of the line were some fans from Sweeden. They told him that they might not have another chance and that they would never abandon him and asked him to work hard for them. Ekin has always been willing to sign autographs and has the honorofic title of the autograph prince. it means that he is able to autograph very quickly.

In the past few years a number of singers have released photo albums. Ekin openly said that temporarily he was not considering following the trend. Mostly because in recent years his work has caused him to have a number of scars on his body. In fact he suffers from overactive cell disease which means that scars gradually raise above the skin. His doctors say there is no cure for the symptoms only if they grow to big then they can be surgically removed, but then there would be an operation scar. He laughed and said some people mistakenly thought that Ekin's scars were raised a little. Actually it is the scar on his chest which he explained had even more enlarged. When it reaches a serious size he can consider whether to cut it off. Ekin blames his mother saying she was not as attentive to him as to his older brother.

Gigi also politely refuses to make a photo album, because she feels she is too thin. Ekin naturally says he doesn't agree with his girlfriend's body sense. Shan Shan teases Ekin that he favors thin people. Reporters asked Ekin how he would feel if Gigi made a sexy photo album. Ekin said every person has an image, he felt that it would be a kind of testimony.

In his new movie Six Strong Men Ekin plays a young upwardly mobile executive whose boss uses him as an auspicious tool. However he is handsome and bright in appearance and has a diligent personality but doesn't have a girlfriend. Consequently all his female coworkers are desperate to catch his eye, and flirt and flutter their eyelids at him. This causes a number of his male coworkers to become extremely jealous. One plump girl who is enamoured of Ekin puts on a seductive black swimsuit at a company function. She tries a number of ways to get him to notice her. Ekin's colleagues are all watching wishing for her to stop. Ekin also knows perfectly well he has to escape this beauty.

Afterwards Ekin was asked how he was affected by this scene. He said that the scene is actually very funny and he had a hard time stopping laughing. However he thinks whether girls are fat or thin is not strict, because personality and inner beauty compared with appearance is more important.

Ekin last night participated in 903's Ten Thousand Fans activities. He suffered the hosts I Love U Boy'z make a love display and harrangue him. However Ekin appeared totally relaxed. Because the hosts have recently signed with EEG. Ekin secretly measured them and then said that he would personally make a snow cupboard for them. It caused them to be embarrased.

Although Ekin spent 3 years in EEG's snow cupboard, afterwards Ekin glossed over his comments saying he was going to call and buy them a fridge, because in the summer the weather is hot and when you sing your mouth is dry and you need a drink, this will supplement.

Recently for the movie 6 strong Men Ekin and the other 5 cast members went onto a platfoem on the 50th floor of a building. A Zi fears heights, he was very afraid and was shaking. Ekin noticed that he he was shaking out of control. Ekin smiling said A Zi really had a good fright, there were 6 people who inside were really afraid, The best laugh is director ask me to walk out to the platform edge and prepare jump from the building. All people walk three steps reach edge, then soft base allow 6 more steps. A Zi said the platform was soft, Ekin really has a lot of courage. However Ekin a little also feel hinself in danger, he still laugh and said he flapped suddenly as if appear to fly, he went out on the platform and ran and bounced to show was safe, really would be surprised if jump jump jump cause him to fall to the street. Ekin recollect at that time filming the scene jumping from the building, everybody made a noise and many jokes, the entire roof was full of happy laughter, we even had a meal together on the roof.

The movie explains that they cannot take life's pressure and so wan tot jump from the building.

The movie is expected to be released at the end of August, Ekin hopes that the audience will also feel it is a happy movie.

Tonight Ekin and Jordan Chan performed together in a Good Brothers concert at the Causeway Bay International Commerce Center. The concert began at 8:30pm. There was a variety line up. Now the conceert is over Ekin will be starting work on hos new movie Divergence.

In other news Ekin went with Shan Shan and Jerry to visit their younger sister who just had a baby girl. He laughed, "Is secondary to get married and have a family, this way I have more children. Then wait, when they grow up can freely travel aboard the space shuttle in outer space.
