The famous Taiwanese painter Jimmy was invited to produce 10 works of art for the movie Floating Landscapes. Of the 10 pictures, 6 have never been seen before by an audience. Because Jimmy's work is so popular his paintings are very expensive. The pictures for the movie are worth $1,150,000 US dollars. However Jimi has declined payment wanting to collect only friendly feelings. The movie company will after the premiere make available a Floating Landscapes Paintings Book featuring Jimmmy's work.
Jimmy used the movie story as the source for the 10 pictures. In the movie Karina searches for the scenery painted by her boyfriend before his death. But the scenery seems not to exist. She asks a local postman to help her find it. Finally, as she falls in love with the postman, and can let her dead boyfriend go, the scenery suddenly appears.
Karina was full of praise for Ekin. She said that although he often made fun of her, he was very easy to get along with. Both Ekin and Liu Yu made it easy for her to portray falling n love with them.

Today is not only Ekin's birthday but also the aniversary of his announcement of his relationship with Gigi Leung. It was after this that Ekin's career took a tumble. However Ekin is cheerful.
Although I fell, it was a good pain. This is my 36th year. I still have a goal, because I have learned to make people laugh.
Ekin's image in the film business has always been one of a mainstream actor. Audiences remember his Young and Dangerous series. Also his action special skills in A Man Called Hero, Stormriders and Twins Effect. However it has been 3 years, in that time he has been charged that in both the movie and music circles he hasn't made to prominent an achievement. Has his career tumbled into too deep a valley?
My read in this isn't to bad. From graduating school until now, I possess my own career, I have a car, I have a house, I feel I very much already made a profit. As to my career, it has ups and downs, in fact this is common. Even though sometimes I find myself in a dark mood. Liu Qing Yun once said to me " You first have to die, then after that you can have a new life." Andy Lau is also an influence. Both these guys once poisoned the box office, they suffered many years. They are my idols, only now have they become a box office guarantee. Andy Lau told me " You work as equal to you success with Young and Dangerous even if you din't make a movie abd have to sit in the cold . So need not worry as long as work hard to change, then you will not suffer a die out."
Currently Ekin is in the movie Floating Landscapes Indeed because too many people think he is only suitable for commercial films, even if directors erroneously believe he dare not try.
Currently my acting skill and Mandarin have a definite degree of difficulty. Want me to perform an already dead person, also the pace of the movie is slow. At first I am really not used to that. My co star Karina inspired me to perform the art part slowly, she helped me to be able to deal with the coordination. At first I was very afraid, but her certainty is a good opposition.
Ekin and Karina are lovers in the movie. Later because he has cancer he dies. Karina finds letters and pictures and in love goes to seek his living condidtions and the scenery.
During his association with Gigi does he also have this kind of romantic situation?
Laughing: I am too lazy. So I don't write letters or leave any special marks, because everything is inside my memory. I most remember with her the start. Everyone doubted, but eternity they are unlikely to overlook. I sometimes have the chance to recall the special day, in fact it is a good memory.

The day before yesterday was Ekin's 36th birthday. In the evening, he and a number of good friends such as Jerry Lam and his manager Shan Shan, got together to celebrate. Gigi was unable to be there as she is out of the country working.
Already there have been many years that haven't produced a CD, although he has often mentioned that he has sung with a group. Ekin likes this 'please yourself' mentality but this years birthday wish is to collaborate with his good friend Chen Guangrong to make a song. He may use this song to make a present for his fans. Ekin explained that when he travels to the mainland many fans shout him, and some more arrive on the mainland to see him, which causes him to be very touched. He decided to setup an official website. He hopes that this can help him communicate with his fans. He wants to place this song on the website as a present for his fans. He hopes also to have a film clip for his fans to see.
Ekin also spoke about his recording contract with EEG. He said that his manager Shan Shan was handling this business. Ekin did say that he wants to continue to sing because he does not want to waste his teacher Roman Tam's painstaking care.
Ekin received many novel birthday presents. One that made him very happy was a computerized watch made by a friend's American Company especially for him. Ekin said he had particularly looked forward to this gift as the watch will be known as "Ekin Watch'. He was able to suggest to his friend that he will use it to present to the public. Maybe he will act as the spokesperson.
He also received a life support jacket, a Japanese invention. He laughed and said if you put on the jacket and don't eat or drink for three days and nights you still wouldn't die. This idea caused him to feel quite excited.

Yesterday Ekin appeared at the hospital where his brother's baby boy was born. Ekin, as the infant's uncle, personally drove to collect the family as they left the hospital. Ekin was asked if he had a small gift for the baby. Ekin laughed and said "I have sole charge of all the toys." He was asked again whether he had considered to have a baby. Ekin right away laughed, " Temporarily I don't want this problem."

This evening Ekin, Karina, and Liu Yu the leading actors in the movie Floating Landscapes attended the premiere. They were joined by the Director and the head of the movie company. Reporters asked Ekin whether he was confident about the box office for the movie as the box office for Heroic Duo and My Dream Girlfriend were less than ideal. Ekin answered that Floating Landscapes was an art film. he noted that it had already participated in Venice and had been well received. He suspected that the box office will be slow, as people hear of the movie. As to Heroic Duo, the box office cannot be compared as he was about to go to Korea to attend the movie premiere there.
The big news however, was the elevation of Ekin to the role of Uncle to his older brother's new baby son. Ekin was very happy, he said that a few days ago he had gone to the hospital to visit his sister in law and see the baby. Ekin indicated that it was important to his father to have someone to carry on the family name. Now that he has a grandson he is satisfied. Ekin laughed and said that this meant the pressure was off and his parents were unlikely to urge him to settle down and take a wife. He is aware that he is now 36 years old, however, he thought that 40 years old would be the ideal age.
Reporters once again asked about the rumor that he and Gigi would go to Canada to get married. Ekin angrily said that the reports were false. One minute you say that we have parted company, next minute you say we are about to secretly get married. These reports almost entirely haven't stopped.

Ekin was in Korea to attend the premiere of the Movie Heroic Duo and to promote the movie. He attended a press conference. He said that he would donate money to help the victims of the recent Typhoon. Many fans came out to see him. Ekin attended a get together to belatedly celebrate his birthday with his Korean Fans. The fans gave him a warm and enthusiastic welcome. Many gave him gifts including cellphone, a traditional Korean costume and a birthday cake.
Heroic Duo opens on October 10th in Korea. The theater carried out every opportunity to publicize the movie. Posters have been outside all the movie theaters.
This is the 4th time Ekin has been to Korea. The first time was to promote A Man Called Hero, the last time was to film a music video with a Korean singer. Ekin was asked if he had considered expanding into the Korean market. Ekin said that he hadn't thought about it, however, to participate in a Korean movie he would need to be in Korea half a year, so to make a Korean film would be hard and he would need to negotiate and carefully consider.

Yesterday Karina Lam and Ekin attended a promotion for the movie Floating Landscapes at the Yu Tao Da Shopping Plaza. The soundtrack of the movie was for sale and both Karina and Ekin autographed copies for fans. Ekin was late arriving because he had to rush from filming Anna in KungFu Land.
Karina was besieged by gossip reporters on her separate relationships with Liu Yu and Ekin. Karina told them that in the movie for one half of the time she was with Ekin and the other half with Liu Yu, it was the same at the Premiere.
Ekin's girlfriend Gigi has been chosen in this year's top ten Oustanding Youth. Karina said that she had already congratulated Ekin, She said that she had only met Gigi once before, she thought she was very tall. Karina also asked the reporters what you had to do to be chosen. They replied that you needed to do much good work for charity. Karina immediately pointed to herself and said that she did lots of good work too.
Ekin also discussed his girlfriend's selection. He told reporters that they had already gone out to dinner to celebrate, but he hadn't given her a gift. Reporters asked him if it worried him that Gigi has achieved such prominence. Ekin replied that he will not go to do good works just to win a prize, to actively work for charity it needs to come from your innermost being.

Floating Landscape opened yesterday. Director Carol Lai Miu Shuet was nervous about the box office but she could not stay in Hong Kong for reaction. Yesterday she, Karena and Ekin headed to Beijing to meet with Liu Ye and Stanley Kwam Kam Peng to begin the Mainland promotional activities. The film market recently has gradually returned to life. Lai Miu Shuet felt that the phenomenon is something to be happy about. She felt very luckily. Although her experience as a director is light, Filmko still has given her many opportunities and supported her on his creative needs. For example, for the finale the exterior crew has gone to Qingdao twice to wait for pear blossom to blossom. It even rented an old mansion and drew pear blossoms for a scene in which Karina was affected.
Ekin in the film is not in the same scenes as Liu Ye. He said, "Strictly speaking I should be a ghost. Jimmy (Gei Mai) turns himself into two characters. One is Liu Ye and one is me. So from now on I should be called 'Gei Mein'." After taking a look at the Jimmy Liao (Gei Mai) illustration, he added a few stroke and joked, "Actually I drew the whole picture, don't tell anyone!".
During the movie Ekin and Karina have to act as lovers. In the close scenes, Ekin sugested that they keep a cushion between them. Karina worried that perhaps Ekin didn't like her, but he was only concerned that she may not want to have her body so close to the actors.
Ekin talked about the young actor who plays him as a child. Ekin said that he looks very like himself as a child. The young actor tagged along with him and Karina when they were out in the street. Ekin said, "He looks just like me when I was little. With him and Karina, we definitely would be mistaken for a family of three." Karina told Ekin to stop joking to avoid more rumors with him.
Ekin felt the cold weather the hardest to take while shooting in Qingdao, but on the day of wall painting the weather was great..

Ekin is the World Wild Life Fund's (Hong Kong) Ocean Amabassador. A few days ago for a short film he made a dive to the ocean floor to pull up an abandoned net to conserve the ocean ecology. it is planned to broadcast the short film at the end of the month.
Ekin spoke of the first time he went on a dive. Then I didn't have a dive licence, but the activity gave me a good surprise. Learning is like martial arts, the instructor urge me to see the ocean world. As a result I then concentrate on the idea, and now I have a second grade dive licence. I hope I can examine reaching a dive coach licence, then I can see more.
In the movie Floating Landscapes which opened yesterday, the director talked about the difficulty of filming the pear blossoms in Qing Dao as they were only in bloom for a few days before they withered.
There are two scenes in which Karina has to cry. One is when she helps Liu Yu to cut his hair and she can't help but remember when she used to help cut her dead boyfriend Ekin's hair. The scene is inserted as if in her memory. The second time is when Ekin explains to her that he is going to die from his disease and asks her to cremate him, Karina sobs that she doesn't want to. The director had to clear the set for this scene. Karina found it very difficult to pull out from the role and cried for many hours. Her face was all swollen and so it was some time before filming could resume.

Today is the aniversary of Roman Tam's death. This evening Ekin and Shan Shan, with other friends and family arrived at his home to honor his life and remember his legacy. Ekin brought fresh flowers to remember his teacher.

Ekin is happy to be the spokes person for both Cannon cameras and the Japanese cosmetic giant's male skin care line Shiseido JS. Yesterday at a press conference, the head of the Shiseido company, Mr. Lan Tien announced that with Ekin's help they were planning to launch Shiseido JS in to the American market. He said that now was the time to invite him to launch the product in the US, because he has a handsome style and very good skin.
He also gave Ekin a leather suitcase as a belated birthday present. Ekin was of course excited with the news and the gift. He laughed and said he would be able to earn big American dollars to bring back to Hong Kong.
Ekin went on to say that he worked hard to bring foreign money into Hong Kong but he felt that the Government failed to promote the economy. He talked about the large amount of money that had been spent on the chaotic and much criticized Harborfest. Ekin alluded to the fact that many people were currently unemployed and said that the huge amount of money could have been used to help a great many people. Jokingly he said that maybe he could use the money he should pay in taxes to help the poor instead.

Miriam Yeung and Ekin are the lead actors in the new movie Anna in KungFu Land which is planned for release at Christmas. A few days ago Miriam and Ekin were at the studios to take pictures for the movie posters. Miriam dressed in soft judo clothes and put on a big display of kicking her legs for the picture. She had to kick her leg repeatedly for about an hour to get the picture right. Ekin, by comparison, was easily able to nose kick his leg. He very quickly acomplished the picture work for the posters.
