Ekin came back from Taiwan this afternoon, where he had been a guest at the New Year count-down. He rushed to the venue of Jordan Chan's concert. Ekin is a guest on both nights of the concert, January 1st and 2nd 2003.

Ekin will sing Danny Chan's old song and Jordan and the dancers will dance. Jordan explained that this was because he used to be a dancer.

Yes, I really went to Jordon Chan's Concert. Truly, nothing to say much. I went with my friends. Ekin came on stage at about 11:00p.m, he sang more than half song this time, he sang very well too (at least better then many many "NEW" stars sing la). Ekin said nothing to Jordan on the stage, only Jordan gave Ekin a BIG hug! Then they both said goodbye and left. Ekin was very professional all the way in JC's Concert, he danced a bit (well, of course he was not like Jordan la) he was moving his body with the music......that's all lor.................but I enjoyed very much ga..............even I was very far away from him..............hahahahaha..............he's great! As Ekin sang that song, I am happy to saw many many people wave to Ekin, of course I still think Ekin still popular at that moment la....................hopefully his career will be better and better in 2003. We left the concert for a moment as Ekin and JC left the stage. We went outside to wait for Ekin lor...............I saw Shan Shan and Michael when they walked out, we said hello to them then we saw Ekin, I said Happy New Year to him and I also told him he was very handsome and formal in the concert and I said to him he sang very well as well (that's true!). Ekin was very suprised, he said to us why we were there...................I said to him "to support you lor."...........hahahaha......of course I was supporting him la............but I also want to see JC's concert as well ge! Hehehehehe! He was happy.......then he left and said goodbye to us and he also said happy new year lor.............that's it la.................

January 5, 2003

Ekin is once again rock climbing for charity. This time it is for the Yan Chai Hospital Charity Show, which will be broadcast by TVB on Saturday January 11th.

Ekin has been busy practicing for the last 2 days. He will have a few more practice days before his climb is filmed on Wednesday.

Ekin is planning to make a climb up the smaller wall first which is 35ft. high, and then to climb the higher rock wall which is 50ft.

Ekin said that he would rather sing a song than do rock climbing. Then he admitted that he likes to climb but he was miserable because his fingers were hurt and his shoes were too tight. He also said that he may consider shooting a TV drama with TVB.

January 6, 2003

Today Ekin visited some handicapped and mentally retarded children with some of his fans. The fans were by invitation only, and only 20 fans could go.

Ekin and the fans played three games with the children. Some of the patients were fans of Ekin. They asked him for his photographs and signatures. Ekin was happy to do that for them.

Ekin said that those patients gave him much happiness in return for his visit.

Ekin's rock climb was recorded this afternoon. Ekin climbed the 35ft. and the 50ft. walls. During his practice he dropped the walkie-talkie and the bank check. When he climbed again for the filming everything went perfectly.

Ekin received a letter from a fan telling him that she had seen the Canon Advertisment posters in the Central MTR station. She said that the posters looked so wonderful the she seriously thought about stealing them. Since Ekin always asked his fans to be good she did not steal them.

Ekin was happy that she did not take the posters. He said he would ask Shan Shan to talk to Canon and ask them to make the posters available for fans.

January 13, 2003

Ekin returned to Hong Kong today from Japan where he has been making another series of advertisments for Shiseido. The photo shoot was at a place called Shonan, which is at the ocean. The commercials will be shown in Mainland China.

At an interview with Oriental Daily Ekin said that the place was very beautiful and he had a happy time there. He also said that no reporters were able to be there, but the photographs will be published in the next issue of the Fanzine to share with his fans.

Ekin Cheng Yee-Kin and Joey Yeung have been announced as ambassadors for the Free Hepatitis Campaign at The Medical School of The University of Hong Kong.

Since the death of Roman Tam this cause is very important to both of them.

Because Fiona and Gianna are students at the University of Hong Kong they were able to be present at the opening ceremony.

Dear friends,

We went to see Ekin and Joey today in the Free Hepatitis Press Conference in the University of Hong Kong today. Due to Fiona is a HKU student so she managed to get into the conference easily and I used my Poly.U student ID to get into it as well.... hahaha ... lucky me. After the conference, Ekin and Joey had interviewed with the reporters in a room so we waited outside for a long time.

Ekin came out with Shan Shan and Ah Don (Roman's assistant), Ekin said "hi" to us and we asked Ekin about the Japan Trip, he said it was very nice and fun, he also said the place he went was beautiful, which we will see it in Fanzine soon in a short time (hopefully...) I said to Ekin he lost weight, he said he didn't lor as usual, but I am sure he lost weight.

Reporters were invited to the set of The Twins Effect which is beginning to wrap up shooting. Ekin is still working to finish some scenes but many of the actors have finished shooting.

Even though Ekin is still shooting, he still has some spare time to watch TV with his family. Ekin has been watching a TVB series starring Kwok Chun On. Ekin said he thought Kwok was a very good actor.

Ekin has signed up to do 3 more movies in 2003 and also 3 commercials for Shiseido. Ekin is planning to make a TV series when he is finished with the three movies. He said perhaps this will be in June but the script will be the most important factor. Ekin is also hoping to make the series with his close friends from the TVB acting class. Ekin mentioned that he would like to work with Kwok Chun On but because he acts so good maybe he will not want to do the TV series with him.

Ekin was invited to go to Beijing to record a Mandarin song which will be broadcast on Chinese New Year. He was also invited to make a new Mandarin album.

Ekin said that he couldn't promise his fans right now because he still has a contract with EEG. He would like to have a good Mandarin song, but his Mandarin is still not good even though he has studied for a few years already.
Ekin is working hard to learn Mandarin and English. He hopes that both these languages will help his career.

The motorcycle that Ekin is standing on is called 'The Little Sheep' so the newspaper Oriental Daily asked Ekin to ride on it to bring red pockets to their readers.

Reporters asked Ekin when he will give out red pockets, that is, when will he get married? Ekin said "later". Ekin doesn't believe the fortune tellers and thinks that this year will be a good year for him because it is his year. He will make a number of movies and commercials this year.
Because Ekin is still working on Twins Effect he will stay in Hong Kong for the holidays. He plans to visit and play mahjong with his family and Gigi. He has bought lucky New Year plants and flowers to celebrate.

Ekin was in Japan recently working on an advertisment for Shiseido. While he was there he visited the Fried Shrimp Restaurant, which was a favorite of his teacher Roman Tam. The owner of the restaurant and Roman had sent each other cards every year for the New Year even though Roman did not speak Japanese. Being in the restaurant reminded Ekin of his teacher, and he told the owner that Roman had passed away in October.

Ekin will go to Roman's home today to remember Roman on his birthday. Roman held a birthday party every year and his friends and students have decided to continue the tradition.

Ekins tells the story of how it was expected that everyone who attended the party would dress up formally, but one year he was so busy and had no time to prepare nice clothes for the party and so he was afraid to go.
