Ekin and Gigi have been dating
for 4 years. Many times there have been rumors that they would marry, but when
Ekin was asked recently he said that he had no plans to marry soon. However,
the magazine speculates that Gigi has moved into Ekin's house permanently.
Ekin bought his home in 2001 for $6 mill HK. It overlooks the water and has it's own dock where Ekin moors his boat.
Gigi owns a smaller house opposite from Ekin, which she bought last October, for $5.82mill HK. Currently it is still in the process of being rennovated. Gigi's mother also lives on the same street.
Ekin uses his bicycle to go to the local market even though he owns two cars, a silver Mercedes SUV and an Audi. He really likes his Audi and keeps it covered when he is not using it. Many times Ekin is collected by his driver to travel to work and does not need to use his car.
Although Gigi owns a Ford Focus, she often loans it to her mother and borrows Ekin's Mercedes to travel about Hong Kong.

Ekin recorded a talk program with Tam Yuk Ying and Leo Koo.
Ekin and Leo talked about a time when they were working on a TV drama ten years ago. They said that one day they had "boiled wax" in the studio. It was a very dangerous thing to do because they could have caused a fire. They were very lucky that no one found out. It would have meant that they would have been fired from TVB.
Leo also told about a time when he had to share a room with Ekin overnight. He said that Ekin slept with no clothes and he was a bit worried about that. Now of course he knows that Ekin likes women because he has a tall girlfriend, Gigi.
Tam said that she thought Ekin was very shy, but he worked hard when they worked together. Ekin talked with her about her boyfriend and Tam said that she would be getting married soon.
Red wine was available for the guests to drink, but Leo didn't drink anything and Tam wanted to have orange juice only, so Ekin was the only one to drink the wine.

Ekin is in Qing Dao working on a movie. He said he would be in Qing Dao for Valentines Day. Many of the newspapers speculate though, that he will return to Hong Kong today to spend Valentines Day with Gigi.
After several articles in a prominent magazines there is also speculation that Ekin and Gigi live together in Ekin's house when he is there, because Gigi has been seen leaving his home. As they live opposite to one another, this is not really surprising.
Ekin will make a movie with Vicky Zhao as his co-star. Vicky is well known on the Mainland. She has done many TV programs. She was in Hong Kong to meet with the film company executives.
Ekin was unable to be present because he is working in Qing Dao. He said it was lucky that he was not there because the newspapers would fabricate stories if he had dinner with Vicky.
In the movie Ekin will play a designer who helps people to look good. Vicky will play a girl from a small village, her father will bring her to the city and Ekin will be asked to work with her to make her better....and eventually there will be a romance.
In the movie Ekin's character must be a greedy and money focused person. Ekin said that this will be a challenge for him since he is not such a person in real life.

Today Ekin gave a mini concert for fans at the HK Polytechnic University. Fans played games to win a Canon poster, a digital camera, and to hold hands with Ekin while he sang to them.
Jerry Lam was also a guest of Ekin's at the concert. He helped Ekin to chose the winners.
One of the fans was too shy to touch Ekin and Ekin said "would you prefer me to touch you instead?". Also in the audience was a couple who will get married soon. Ekin and Jerry hummed the wedding march for them. Ekin promised them he would attend their wedding.
The reporters say that Ekin's singing has improved a lot, and also that he is not as shy as before.

Ekin is shooting a movie in Qing Dao. The movie has the Title "Lian Zhi Feng Jing" the English title being "Floating Landscapes". Ekin will play a painter in the movie who lived in Qing Dao all his life.
Ekin said that it was very cold in Qing Dao and he did not bring enough warm clothes. Also because the movie tells about many seasons there are times when the actors must pretend it is summer. In one scene Ekin has to wear a thin tshirt and lie on the floor pretending to be comfortable and happy. The temperature was below freezing.
Ekin said that he lay on the floor for about 10 minutes. After the shooting he rushed back to his hotel to take a hot bath and wrap himself in a thick quilt to get warm again.
Ekin also has had to cut his hair for this movie, it is important that he and Liu look as alike as possible.
Ekin said that he and Lui
had a good time together even though his Mandarin is not very good. He said
that it improved a lot by spending time talking with Liu.
Ekin and Lui enjoy taking photographs and they spent a lot of time with their
cameras.
Part of the movie also shows Ekin's character when he was a child. The director used a photograph of Ekin as a child to search for a boy to play the part. Ekin said the boy looks 90% like him and he joked that perhaps he was his illigitimate son who got lost in Qing Dao.
The director also said that Ekin's acting is very good and this is a pleasant surprise to him as he had not worked with Ekin before.

In September Ekin made a comercial for Lingken Motorcycles. He made the commercial with Miss Asia. The images from the commercial have been added to Lingken's new website Lingken Motorcycles

Last evening Ekin shot another set of photographs in a series of advertisments for Canon cameras. This time he wore white. Asked if there was any increase in renumeration for these advertisments, Ekin just smiled and said that the fee for the advertisments was excellent.
As before he had to lie on a hard surface for the photographs. Many reporters came to see the photo shoot.
Today Ekin leaves for Shanghai to begin work on his next movie with Vicky Zhao. ("My Dream Girl." )
