Yesterday Ekin was in Nanjing attending a Jorano promotion activity. Thousands of fans turned up and waited for hours to see him. Unfortunately, Ekin arrived about an hour late, but by then the scene was out of control. Because there were so many people it was really difficult for the security to protect Ekin to get to the stage, all the people trying to reach him and almost knocked him down. Ekin, therefore, only stayed 5 minutes before rushing away. His fans were very upset that they mostly couldn't see him because his appearance was so fast.

December 10, 2003

In Ekin's December 23, 2003 release movie Anna and Wulin he has a scene where he has to kiss Denise Ho passionately in order to make Miriam Yeung's character jealous. Reporter's asked Ekin if the kiss gave him any special feeling. Ekin replied that it is not the first time he has done such a scene and of course there is no special feeling. He was then asked whether his girlfriend Gigi Leung would be upset that he had to kiss in the movie. Ekin laughed and replied that the script of the movie required it and so of course he would do it. Everyone who is involved are actors, and their concern is that it translates into a good scene for the movie. He said that it was unlikely there would be any dispute with his girlfriend. Denise added that although this was the first time she had worked with Ekin, she only hoped that they would be able to bring to the audience a new fresh feeling in this movie.

Ekin's singing career in recent years has been at a standstill, however, he has been in great demand to make movies and also to endorse a number of products. Ekin has been a spokesperson for Canon camera's for 2 years. However a reporter tailing Ekin found him in a Stanley Street photographic equipment store with friends looking at products by Nikon and Casio. Ekin and his friends took some time to compare the products. When Ekin discovered the reporter taking inappropriate photographs he immediately left the store. The reporter wrote that the way Ekin left the store was mysterious and furtive. He accused Ekin of wanting to buy camera brands other than Canon. Ekin left the store alone and his friends followed more leisurely. The reporter was not to be disuaded and followed Ekin into the street. In the street Ekin met up with some other friends and they stood talking for a while. Afterwards Ekin went with his friends into an eyeglass store to look at eyeglasses. Ekin was very attentive to his friends. Again see the reporter taking pictures, this time he casually exited the store and jumped into a waiting car and drove away. The magazine reporter wrote that Ekin should only use the brand of camera for which he was the spokesperson and berated him for looking at other brands.

Ekin goes out of the entrance and jumps into a car. On a radio interview the next day Ekin indicated that he had not been looking at cameras but at slide projectors with an art director.

December 16, 2003

Today at about 5pm Ekin was involved in a car accident. A white van suddenly stopped to turn right. Ekin braked hard, but the green car behind him was unable to stop and it ran into the back of Ekin's 4 wheel drive Audi. Ekin called a friend to help and also the police.

Ekin was not injured and his car was only scratched. The green car, however, was badly damaged. When Ekin saw it he didn't even scold the female driver, but told her not to worry as it was no big deal. The woman was so shaken that she didn't even recognize Ekin.

Ekin's friend asked him if he would seek damage compensation from the car that hit him, but Ekin said he would probably claim on his insurance. He was very kindhearted and said that her car was much more damaged than his and he didn't want her to have to pay for it.

Universal boss Lin Xiao Ming was also concerned, he said that fortunately it was only a tiny collision and Ekin was not hurt. Ekin is working on his latest movie Twins Effect 2 - Black Rose. He has been working long hours and driving to and from work. Friends say that his schedule is so full that he is only getting 2 or 3 hours of sleep and it is insufficient.

On top of his busy filming schedule, Ekin is also working to promote the Christmas release of Anna in KungFu Land. Ekin treats the promotion activities very seriously, he and Mirian are confident and believe that the movie will make the audience feel happy.

Over the last few days Ekin and Miriam have travelled to Beijing, Shanghai and Gungzhou to publicize their new movie Anna In Kung Fu Land from Universal Pictures. the movie is a comedy, action, and also romantic love film. Yesterday reporters continued to ask Ekin if he had secretly married Gigi. Ekin asked what else he could say. He had already told them many times that he had not married.

On the way home from Guangzhou, Ekin teased Miriam that he could not see her luggage. As a result Miriam's luggage disappeared at the airport without trace. It turned out it had been put on the wrong flight. Miriam accused him of having a crow's mouth and putting a curse on her.

The movie will be released for the Christmas Season. The movie is relaxed entertainment with romantic love and acrobatic fighting, definitely the right style for the year end movie market adding to an atmosphere of celebration.

Yesterday Ekin and Miriam attended a martial arts rally in assdociation with their new movie Anna In Kung Fu Land. Miriam and Ekin were judges for the finals of a young people's martial arts competition. All the time Miriam was smiling and laughing. The official said that it was clear that Ekin was not a comedy actor. Miriam started to laugh and said that Ekin was a very funny person and he was a hero. She went down on her knees and worshiped him as her teacher.

The officials also asked them both to participate in a martial arts display. Miram joked that Ekin could play the part of the Christmas Tree. Ekin scolded her back and said that she had obviously fogotten to take her medication.

During the demonstration one of the participants made a kick and was not cautious and it was going toward Miriam. Fortunately, Ekin saw it and was fast enough to block it, however, Miriam was clearly afraid as both her hands were up to protect herself.

Ekin was also asked about his recent car accident, and whether or not he would pursue compensation from the other driver. Ekin said that probably the other person would pay one half the damage expenses. Next time perhaps more careful.

Within the past few days both Miriam and Ekin have been busy with the promotion of Anna In Kung Fu Land. Miriam however, found time today to go shopping for Christmas presents. She regretted that she didn't have more time but she wanted to have a present for the Director and for her Co-star Ekin.

This evening was the premiere of the movie in Hong Kong. Ekin, Miriam and Denise rode to the premiere by yacht. Along the way many residents and tourists turned out to see. The secrity hired by the movie company had a difficult time controlling the crowd. the scene was confused and chaotic. The media crowded in the center to get photographs of the celebrities but were unable to get even small interviews. Many fans and tourists ran after their idols but were not cautious and many people fell over. Fortunately there were no serious injuries.

Initially Ekin and Miriam had wanted to walk from the boat to the movie premiere but the movie company personnel insisted that they ride the rickshaws. Ekin later spoke frankly about the chaotic scene. He said that in such a situation there would be few who would lack fear. He was most anxious in case the rickshaws would be dragged over. Howeverr he understood the movie company's need to manufacture the mood but also had to be able to take into account if have unexpected situation.

Ekin seemed more accustomed to such a chaotic situationand didn't find it strange. He talked about his recent arrival in Chongqing to attend a publicity function. There 30,000 people had assembled to see him. The boss of the store wheree he would promote the goods saw the scene out of control. It was not possible to make trouble for the store so as a result it was important to change the plan and preseve order.

Ekin was asked about his Christmas plans. He said that he originally planned to spent the time with his manager's family, but because his girlfriend Gigi must work it was unknown whether they could celebrate together or not. However they would definitely exchange gifts.

Also the Movie Company announced that there would be a video game based on the movie. The game would involve fighting in all the styles featured inthe movie.The director was very pleased with the idea because he felt that it would give value to his creation. He did however say that the characters in the game looked somewhat cartoonish.

A few days ago was Ekin's manager Shan Shan's birthday. Ekin specially chose a piece of jewellry worth more than $10,000HK. When ShanShan received it of course she was thrilled with the piece. she rold reporters trhat it was not permitted to say too much but it was a lovely birthday present.

Ekin said that his Christmas wish related to filming more good stories and also to make a good new CD. Hopefully these aspirations can become true.

Ekin was also interviewed by Singpao regarding his love of food and the magical Christmas meal he made to share with his guest. Ekin said that he has always loved to eat, because of his mother. He explained that when they went out to eat delicious food his mother would return home and attempt to reproduce it. Ekin's own interest in food began young, in fact he wanted to train as a chef in a hotel. However because of his appearance the hotel management suggested he be a bellboy instead. Now years later, he likes Japanese vegetables very much. So he together with Shan Shan and another assistant prepared a magical Christmas two person meal. He praised the store keeper for finding the delicious ingredients and also putting up with his detailed inquiries, because it is essential that the ingredients are fresh. Sharing nice food at Christmas is like a neverending gift.

This reminded Ekin of another neverending gift he once gave. He said that the first time he gave a gift for Valentines Day. The female concentrated on the ideal that should receive flowers. So I personally give much thought to the gift and choose to give flower seeds.

Today, because he is an ambassador for the Wish Foundation, Ekin attended their charity premiere of 'Ultraman 2 Blue Earth' a Japanese Anime, with his friend Jerry Lam. Ekin told a story of when he was about 10 years old, he and his brother had disguised as Ultramen. As a result his brother had thown him to the ground and he had got injured. From then on he dare not again disguise as Ultraman.

Ekin said that he exchanged gifts at home with Gigi and Shan Shan. Reporters asked Ekin if he had spent a lot of money on gifts. He put up several fingers and said it was a 5 place number. He was also asked if he had bought a gift for Gigi. He said that he had, but he purposely made it a mystery, and was not willing to divulge to reporters. All he woud say was that it was very useful.

Universal Pictures new movie Anna in KungFu Land has grossed close to $4,000,000HK in the first 4 days since it's release. Yesterday the movie company held a celebration feast and most of the cast members attended.

This year has been a stellar one for Ekin. He has filmed 5 movies, the box office took in more than $400,000,000HK. Ekin is very pleased and satisfied with this achievement.

Next year he wants to place more emphasis on the singing aspect of his career. Even though his contract with EEG is now at an end, to date he has not yet signed with a new record company, however he divulged that he and Shan Shan have recently been in discussions with a Japanese Company. The company looked at Ekin's movie advertisments on the internet and have an interest in seekng a collaboration with him.

Ekin also divulged that since he has sufficient resources he is still considering setting up his own company. Reporters asked him if Gigi had given him the idea. Ekin laughed and said that Gigi approved of him developing both sides of his image. He said that being an actor was the stable part and he wanted to grasp the opportunity.

Reporters talked about the unpleasantness this year in the entertainment circles especially the suggestions by other people that he was inferior to Gigi and that they had got married. Ekin said that these were irrational reasons for people to gossip. He said the the next two years was a crucial period. He purposely want to fix his mind on his career. Ekin refused to say anything about a possible future wedding day.

Last night at an end of the year award ceremony both Miriam and Gigi won a prize for most popular selected people. Ekin was asked which he liked to look at best, Miriam or Gigi. Ekin thought for a minute and then embarrassed and cheeky said "Twins are the best".
