Ekin Cheng was invited to be a spokesperson for Columbia Sportswear as it opened a new retail outlet in Hong Kong. It was a very hot day, Ekin wore a green Colunbia sport jacket. He posed for photographs for the press and his fans before entering the shop.

Columbia is an American Sportswear Company, the president of the company was also at the opening. She and Ekin posed for Photographs together. They talked together in English, it seems that Ekin's English is much better these days. Ekin was introduced as "an actor who enjoyed outdoor sports."

Ekin also said that he would not need to take any clothes when he travelled in the future, because Columbia would sponsor him and his family to take clothes from any Columbia store in the world

A red sportsjacket was picked out by Ekin for his singing teacher Roman. Roman's health is not good and Ekin makes sure that someone calls him everyday and visits him occasionally. Ekin hoped that the red jacket would bring him good health.

Ekin Cheng was the star celebrity at a good luck ceremony for China's World Cup Soccer Team. Ekin joined together with 100 children to make a shoelace soccer net. Ekin and the children wished the team good fortune, and hoped that they would score the first goal in the World Cup. It is obvious from the pictures that Ekin had a great time with the children, and they all loved him.

Ekin gave interviews to several prominent Hong Kong Newspapers this week. One caught him while he was enjoying some fishing and the other around town.

 

Ekin said that he doesn't read newspapers very much any more. He prefers to get his news from the Cable TV News Channel. He doesn't pay much attention to what the press are writing about him. He felt it would be very sad if he still had to fight for recognition and attention. The newer artists he felt needed the publicity.

Ekin was asked if he felt Gigi's career was going along more smoothly than his. He said that they were both very busy but because the movie industry was not doing so well he would choose his work and movies carefully.

Ekin works to keep himself in shape. He likes outdoor activities especially rock climbing, and badminton. He does not play video games quite so much these days. He is also studying both English and Mandarin.

Ekin Cheng traveled to Malaysia today with his manager Lam Shan Shan. Ekin will take part in a promotion for Tag Heuer watches. He recently aquired his diving license. During the promotion he will dive with the Malaysian Navy to test how waterproof the watches are.

Reporters asked Ekin to comment on rumors concerning a breakup between him and his manager Shan Shan when her contract was up. Ekin dispelled the rumors as totally untrue. They would continue to work together for the forseeable future.

Ekin was joined in Malaysia by Daniel Wu. Both actors were given a Tag Heuer watch. Ekin's was the Rangiroa Tahiti (Japanese 2000 edition). They dived off the island of Layang Layang, which is a coral island.

Ekin said that the dives were very deep. Each watch had to pass 5 tests. He was excited to see a 10ft. shark. Although he has his beginning diving license he would like to achieve a higher grade.

Ekin was interviewed by Apple Daily today. He told them that he really enjoys playing Badminton. Ekin and his friends play together at a local court. It is a lot of fun and helps to keep him fit and healthy.

Ekin said that in July he will organize a badminton tournament with his fans as a charity event.

Ekin Cheng Yee-Kin left Hong Kong for London today to begin work on his latest movie "MY Wife Is 18" He will be shooting on location at London University and London's Chinatown with his co-star Charlene Choi Cheuk-Yin (The Twins).

Many fans and reporters were at the airport to see Ekin and Charlene. Ekin took time to sign autographs and pose for photographs.

He will return to Hong Kong on June 24th.

Fans were also waiting for Ekin at London's Heathrow airport. Although he was tired after a long flight he signed autographs and posed for pictures with them. They also spent time with him as he waited for his return flight on June 24th.

Ekin said that although the trip had been short and a lot of work, he had enjoyed his time in England. He planned to sleep for quite a while when he got home.
