Ekin attended
the birthday celebration of Director Yeun. Several others members of the cast
of "My Wife is 18" also attended. Ekin was asked to cut the cake,
but reportedly did not do it very well. From the photographs everyone looks
to have had a good time.

Ekin is still working on the filming of his latest movie " My Wife is 18". It is rumored that Ekin and Charlene play many jokes and tricks on the set.
Some news on the story line emerged today. Ekin's character is asked by his dying grandmother to honor a arranged marriage. He marries Charlene's character in England. After the death of the Grandmother they return to Hong Kong where Ekin's character becomes a teacher in the school Charlene attends.

Ekin was a judge for a tshirt caption contest at Kowloon City Plaza today. Many fans were there to see Ekin. After all the contestants had paraded down a catwalk... Ekin and his fellow judge Samantha presented prizes to the winner.
As usual, Ekin posed for photographs and spoke to reporters before leaving. He was asked about his contract with EEG which will expire next year as he has only released one album. Ekin said that he was satisfied with EEG, but negotiations for contract renewal had not yet begun. Ekin had hoped to release a Mandarin album later this year, but presently this project is on hold. Shan Shan said that other record companies were interested in releasing albums with Ekin after his contract with EEG expires.

Ekin was in Japan today to promote the Japanese drama he filmed in April this year. There was a press conference with Ekin and the Japanese actresses involved in the Drama. The Drama is expected to air in Japan on September 4th, 2002. Ekin is expected to return to Japan to further promote the series in September.
Ekin plays himself and the Japanese actresses are his fans attending a concert. Ekin's own fans acted as extra's in the drama providing the audience for the concert.The song he sings in the Drama is "Together".

Ekin made an advertisment for men's suits recently. The company based in Beijing is called Far East. It is the first time that they have used a celebrity to promote their products.
Today Ekin was in Beijing for a press conference to promote the company. It is expected that he will make promotions in a number of other cities in China.
He signed autographs and
also posed with some of the company's employees. The Chief Executive of the
company gave Ekin a gift of two "round the world" air tickets. When
reporters asked if he would take Gigi on such a trip, Ekin said " Don't
you think I should go with you reporters?"

Ekin was the guest of the 'Make a Wish' charity today. The charity held a rock climbing competition. As Ekin is already an accomplished rock climber, he was asked to demonstrate how to climb the wall. Wearing a white T-shirt, green pants and white sneakers, he scaled the wall without difficulty. While at the top of the wall he posed for pictures.
Ekin and the rock climbing coach were the judges as 10 people competed to scale the climbing wall. Three prizes were awarded and Ekin presented the prizes to the winners. One of the winners was a member of Ekin's fanclub.
After the competition Ekin was interviewed by the press. He told them that he has learned and enjoys rock climbing and deep sea diving. Today he climbed for charity, and he has also been asked to promote the protection of the ocean environment.
Ekin also told reporters that the Movie " My Wife is 18" has finished filming and is now in post production. He is planning to work on another movie in October. He will also return to Japan at the end of the month to promote the Japanese drama, he made last April, which is due to air in Japan on September 4th.

Ekin and Shan Shan attended a banquet to celebrate the launch of Johnnie To Kei-Fung's new film company. Ekin hopes that To Kei-Fung will be able to direct many more movies.

Ekin is currently in Tokyo to promote the Japanese TV Drama. This time he is staying in a house rather than a hotel. His decision came about because he was trapped in an elevator when he was there at the beginning of the month, on the 48th floor.
Ekin said that if there
was an earthquake he would die, it would be so poor to die in an elevator with
two beautiful ladies. (Shan Shan and the Japanese Manager of the Drama were
in the elevator with him)

Ekin is the spokesperson for Zhongshan Jorano Dress Co..Ltd. He attended a press conference there recently. Ekin is the perfect person to promote a casual clothing company, and judging by how good he looks in their clothes, it would seem that the sales can only increase.

Ekin was reported as wanting to continue to learn diving to obtain the next license. Ekin asked his diving coach if the diving could be at night. He is reported to have told his coach that this was to prepare for a movie about diving at night.
The media reported that this was a lie and that the real reason was that Gigi was unhappy that Ekin learned too many things and had too many hobbies, so he did not have time to spend with her.
Ekin enjoys Diving, Rockclimbing, Badminton, computer and video games and his animals.
Gigi told reporters that this was not true, and that she was too busy to complain about Ekin's hobbies. She was asked if she would like to learn to dive. She said that actually, she would like to learn Japanese.
