In Concert
2oth February 1998
Hong Kong Cultural Center
Special Guest - Gigi Lai
Suddenly it's a memory. It was my first experience
as a performer, a true size performance it was.
I suppose my hard work paid off, directly creating
happiness for the crowd. Hearing thousands cheering my name, singing the songs,
encouraging me, it's so flattering it is to the point of ecstacy.
Lights, so voluptuous, propelled me to sing, with
you, the audience shouting.
I still hear the band. I see fireworks and costumes.
I smell laughter and joyful tears.
Lines, curves, skipping as dancing wires.
The dancers, the locks of my hair, the stage, in my
memory, became one full sizzling energy.
I wore masks for you to remember. I kicked bouncing
air that shimered. I remember the moves, how it created your roar.
Colors everywhere, flashing in my eyes. Motions fast
and slow, twisting forms, solid drama.
I hope the pleasure I've given you is as strong now
as EVER.
