Ekin Cheng is best known for his portrayal of Chan Ho-Nam in the popular Young and Dangerous movie series. He also played Whispering Wind in the highly successful Stormriders. More recently, Ekin has enjoyed success in romantic comedies, My Wife is 18 and My Dream Girl and also in action thrillers The Twin's Effect and Heroic Duo. His recent movie Floating Landscapes is an art film was selected to participate in both the Venice and Berlin Film Festivals. This movie was released in 2003. Ekin's movie Anna In KungFu Land was released for the holiday season, on December 24, 2003. This year's movies include Protege de la Rose Noire , Six Strong Men, Leave Me Alone and Divergence . During 2007 two more movies were released Heavenly Mission and Forest of Death. In 2008 Ekin was awarded Best Actor for his role in Rule #1 . He also starred in an Arts movie directed by Ivy Ho Claustrophobia. A sequel to the highly popular Stormriders, Storm Warriors is currently in post production and due to be released in December 2009.

During 2005 Ekin returned to television in a modern drama Always Ready. More recently he has made some episodes of Ultraman for Chayo Productions and also portrayed the hero Hua Yuan Jia in a television series made on the mainland.

Ekin's last solo album Myself was released in 2001. In August 2004 Ekin re signed with BMG and released Discover a compilation of favorite tracks but including four new compositions.

Ekin endorses a number of products, including Shiseido, Seiko, YCMD casual clothing, and Canon. Ekin works hard for a number of charities also. Most notable is his status as the Marine Ambassador for the WWF. Other charities include, Neighborhood Care, The Salvation Army, Hepatitis and Blood Cancer and Education for Children.
