Ekin was interviewed by Singpao today, he spoke frankly about his acting, singing and other aspects of his professional life.

Last year was a lean one for Ekin and it wasn't until close to the end of the year that his movies began to arrive. After the sucess of My Wife is 18 people had a good opinion and this brought him new recognition. However, he points out that it didn't help all parts of his business. Fortunately, because he is still filming he has finally suspended his recording contract with EEG and it will soon expire. But what of his future with regard to singing is this still an objective?


I certainly still have an interest in singing. This target must wait until after September this year, when my record contract will expire. Then after, if it is advantageous, I may put into practice. It depends on staying home, I have to stop and consider the time, perhaps arrange a summer vacation to undertake writing the songs.


Ekin has not formally sung in more than two years. Without an album and concerts he has singlemindedly pursued filming movies. His self-confidence however, is not out of practice.


Before I sing at a fan gathering I work to make my singing exceed expectations. My fans tell me I progress, not "la la". Singing emphasizes feelings, after the performance I experience affection from the audience.
While I break from working I see my business not to clearly, I neglect some aspects. I believe the cure maybe to use your mind to make a more advantageous direction,but also I have a background of personal experience. I begin to understand life, uncertain if this is the reason things now begin to go more smoothly. I discover the world has much good, I lean more toward a good view on life, friends, and personal strengths.
An outstanding director forces you to work your hardest. Even when I appear in public a good director is able to give me a good feeling. I am busy and have opportunity, but I originally accept work in the hope that when I return I will feel a sense of the journey. I keep in mind my relationships with people in the business and how much hope that they recognize me.


Presently Ekin works on more films, for example Dream Girlfriend with director Ye Wei-Min and Heroic Duo with director Chen Mu-Sheng. He also collaborates with actors Li Ming and Wu Zhen-Yu. Their conversation topics also expand to the wider world view. Reports are that on the set of Heroic Duo the actors spent their break time talking about the Hong Kong government.

In the past Ekin was only interested in the latest technology or new game idea. It is a new thing to hear him talk about his views on society's current affairs.

Ekin has struggled for recognition but step by step he pushes on. Presently he hopes his business can obtain success and a record would be even better, neverthless society's feedback is very important.

I remember the record days when I was at the top and had excellent feedback. I feel I have not always been mature. It seems good I meet Li Ming and my girlfriend, all have complete many things for the public good. Suppose have the day when your record is good, and you are able to use much power to help charity, there fore I also work to have this one chance.
The span of human life is a very long time, so it is important to prepare for the day when people cease to want me to make movies. Before I am all an illusion have a day I should retire. I may be very busy right now and enjoy my work, but it is a decision that is important to have.


Sitting beside him his manager Lam Shan Shan had a very big reaction. lauging she told him he should listen to his two women and take advance study and get a university PhD. Ekin agreed,"Not surprised, you both try cultivate me, be careful of women!"
