Ekin came to Toronto to be the special guest at a singing competition, also met with the media for interview. Ekin said that the failure of love with Maggie and Gigi hasn't affected his view towards love. If I have a girlfriend I'll disclose it, if it's the right time I'll get married. if i am in love I'll try to keeo the relationship. However a lot of things are not under my control and I can't force myself to do something.

Talking about Ultraman He said" You watched it before when you were a kid right?"
Talking about video games. He said " You played before right?"
Talking about love. he said" You fell in love before right?"

Actually what he is saying is that Ekin is doing the same as other people, he is a normal person. Of course he wants to get married but it is about timing and the right person, It's destiny, in a relationship you can do your best to keep it, but it isn't totally in your control.
It's just like a TV drama, I do my best to get it done, but after that whether the whole drama is good or not is not under my control. If the audiences and my co-workers know I have given the best I can, then I am satisfied.

It's really difficult to keep a relationship, everybody has to learn, no one knows the final result, first have to try your best.

It's like planting crops, doesn't necessarily mean you can have a harvest, perhaps it is the wind or the weather or suddenly die, no reason, nobody knows. So let it happen. I told myself no matter is work, friends, love try my best, that is what I can do, many things are not under my control.

There are some people say it is not necessary to be always good, I agree with this, I believe this is the attitude I should have.

Reporter: So will you change your mind and not disclose your relationship next time?

Ekin answered without thinking, " No I won't change my mind, I am extremely stubborn.

reporter: In the last months there has been a lot of noise about the break up, do you think there are some problems with the way you are handling it?

Ekin: It's difficult to say whether it is good or bad for me to handle it. I'm not sure if I am lucky or unlucky. Those Hong Kong reporters say, " your story attracts readers and sells the magazines, that's why we write your story. if readers don't like your story, nobody will write it, its simple and realistic"

Ekin suddenly asked: You are working in North America what do you think of the mass media in Hong Kong and the way they work?

We didn't know how to answer him.

But he went on:

Since I entered show business there is very little love affair gossip, you cannot see me drunk or violate traffic regulations. I am normal and very healthy, I have only two relationships, it is normal to have love right?
I'll be more sophisticated. But I still don't know what to do before I start another relationship. I don't think how to handle it until it really happens. The most important thing to do now is to be happy.

Falling in love with somebody is a thing between two persons, especially for the artistes in HK. Once they broke up, the managers of the two artistes expressed themselves to the press; their friends showed their support to each side, the fans of them scolded each other in the internet.

Of course, the ex-girlfriend will be the focus of the press. The press will have a lot of associations and imaginations from the ex-girlfriend's every response & every facial expressions.

It's the thing between those two persons. I think it's the simplest way to do is when they're in love, other people know it. When they're separated, you guys also know it. That’s it. I don't want to let so many people involved in it.

Reporter: So, Ekin will let you know they broke up but he won't tell you the reasons.

A lot of his friends are involved and Ekin said: if we're friends, it means that they understand you a lot and I do understand them very well. Those (rumors) are simply a topic (a selling point of the magazines to increase the sales) . The reporters said that I fell in love with another girl and my friends comment on it. Actually, it's totally fake.

Reporter: In early February, Ekin went to Thailand to shoot Ultra man. Ekin was stalked and taken some photos beside the pool when sunbathing. They said that he is "be a man again" (順其自然). Actually, it's totally because Ekin had a lot of spare time when shooting the dramas.

Ekin: the shooting process is so slow. they shoot the same thing again & again. The light was ready but they shoot only two shots. The way they worked is just like shooting a TV ad rather than a TV drama. Besides, the story is so short. I have to be here before the character changed to be the ultra man. After changed to be the ultra man, it's not the part I do.

Ekin: it's not hard for me this time. Only riding a motorbike, fighting a little bit, climbing up & down - those are the things I do pretty often.

reporters: Ekin acts the way he talks. Ekin tried his best in his work and he really can be "let other things happen". (順其自然)

reporters: how many episodes of ultra man? in what way the ultra man appear to the audiences? Where will it be broadcast? He isn't that he doesn't know.. but he isn't sure..

Ekin: I finished my part in ultra man already. It’ll be broadcast in this year. But I don't know it'll be in which way to appear to the audiences and I don't know whether it will be broadcast in HK or not. Now, I just know that it'll be broadcast in 13 regions.
It’s worldwide.(reporters: how many episodes?) not sure. The story can be short and the story can be changed to very long...
Reporters: it sounds like Wong Kar Wai.....

Actually Ekin doesn't care much.
Ekin: I'm so happy that I've got this chance because it's my interest. They asked me to be the Ultra man and I promised them for sure. In fact, many movies I have done are rewritten from cartoon & comics such as Young & Dangerous, The storm riders.
I think ultra man is so attractive. In fact, I like Ultra man and I read it when I was a kid. Now, I'm an Ultra man!!

Reporter: After the break up, you can leave HK for a while. Is it good for you?

Ekin: No. in fact, I don't care whether it's in HK or not.

It might be the magazines. They made a very strong impression to the readers that I am sad. You can read how they described me and when you can see me now, you know the truth - I'm still the same.

Reporter: you don't look like sad, right?

Ekin: It’s the private things. My work is still the same. I'll go to somewhere to work as long as they give me an offer. Besides, it's already arranged long time ago. I cannot give it up suddenly for no reason.

It’s simply a commercial secret and just don't let other people know in advance.

When I was shooting Always Ready, the reporters in HK asked me what I would do next. I told them that I knew what I would do next but I couldn't tell them at that moment. So, I take Ultra man because I like it and it's already arranged long time ago. I went to Thailand not because I want to escape anything.

Reporters: In this year, Ekin will have a couple of advertisements, two movies and he is thinking of releasing an album. We asked Ekin if he's afraid that he will be affected by his love affair again.

Ekin: I don't think it affects me much. I don't see my life in this way. Sometimes, you think that it's not as smooth as you expected. In fact, it's your learning period. Maybe it affects a little bit but it's not the relationship that affects my career. It’s the media tht affects my work.

I have to accept. When I try to accept it, I also learn a lot of things in the process. Men have to grow up to be sophisticated. I think it's a good thing that I can build up my own thoughts through these events.

Postscript: when we were talking about the love affairs, Ekin's assistant stood up immediately. But when we pretend not to be aware what the assistant is doing, Ekin doesn't look like annoyed and he continued.

in the whole interview, we didn't ask questions about Gigi Leung, getting back together or "you still love me?" SMS. in fact, nobody (from Ekin or Ekin's manager) requests us to give them a question list. And nobody told us what questions they shouldn't ask.

You may think I am not daring to ask those questions but actually Ekin and I think the same way - we want to have something new. We don't want to do what somebody has already done. Of course, we are also afraid that Ekin will say "thank you" to us when asking these sensitive questions. We have only 10 minutes for the interview and we don't want to waste the time.

Reporter: Will you take PS3 or Xbox360?

Ekin: No, I won't take those. There is no breakthrough. I saw it once and I'm not interested in seeing it twice. Even if the game machine is so beautiful or has a wider screen, it's useless. What I want is the creative part rather than the hardware. I don't want the things (the game design or the play screen) that other people have already done. I want something that nobody has done before. PS3 and Xbox260 copied the mode & shots from the movies. No new idea.
So, I like NDS better than PSP simply because it's created rather copied.

Regarding the new machine Revolution, Ekin said that he wants to try it.
Ekin: it's an innovation. if you watched the trailer on the Internet, you'll understand. The control device, the way to control it and the way to play is very creative. What I am waiting for now is this machine.

Ekin wants to continue this topic but a lot of people asked him to leave... otherwise; Ekin still has a lot of things to say..
